Raw meat?

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 10:05 pm

In fallout 3 you got a variety of meat but when you ate it, it didn't appear you cooked it. Do you think there should be the ability to cook food to give it bonuses (like no rads) and maybe in hardcoe mode you'd need to cook it to eat it? And now that I think about you just ate blamco mac&cheese right outta the box!

That Blamco Mac 'n' Cheese was also 200 years old, I doubt cooking it would make it any more edible. Yuck!

But I agree that you should be able to cook raw food, and there should be less pre-war food aswell. Eating cooked food should be better to your health.

Plus the 200 year old factor means you probably have to cook things to avoid becoming sick.

The survival skill is going to encompass some cooking aspects, right? I'm sure I had read this somewhere...

Articles in magazines and on most of the larger gaming sites. At E3, many journalists got a hands on demo of the early stages of the game.

Yup. The E3 gameplay videos even show grilled and normal meat.

Ah I don't have a lot of resources Other then the internet and the only e3 coverage I got was from G4 and IGN. I'm not saying it's bad it's just all I know.

Cooked meat should give more Health points and provide less radiation.

I think that's what i heard, so yes, I guess we can cook food. Though whether it's necessary to cook food before eating it or if it just makes its effects better I don't know.

Maybe it would be good for hardcoe mode. For example, there could be a 1/10 chance that you get sick if you don't cook your meat, etc...

Dousnt radiation keep food preserved for pretty much ever until its like opened? with the overkill of radiation brought upon by the bombs dropped I would imagine they would stay good regardless if opened (if not a little stale)...
irradiated meat would also mean any parasites and bacteria would be more or less dead =/ (still got a chance to get sick from eating it though, but much lower)

If radiation mutated animals their is a possibility of it mutating parasites and bacteria.Plus i wish eating to much could make you fat cause i want to play through as a fat guy.

Touche, also you would probably lose any weight you gain in like 12 hours of running and gunning down ghouls and mutants...

Though beneficial for restoring HP and (in hardcoe) offsetting starvation, eating raw meat in F:NV will typically give you minor penalties (usually STR) for a few minutes.

It's better to cook it using campfires and the Survival skill.
