no real pull for the main quest?(spoilers)

im up to the part where i got the platinum chip from benny back and talked to his robotic buddy yes man.

now i dont really know what to do i know im spouse to pick a side but i feel like the main story is split so many ways i dont really see the point in continuing it like thats how i feel the main story dosent grab me in any way like if i was that guy i would just destroy the damn chip and go about my business but the main story feels like doing sidequest for said faction i wish to help.

(without spoiling please "subtle hints")

does the story become anymore then just a bunch of people vying for a stupid dam and you picking the winner of it or is there something more in the works that i dont know of(again please without spoiling)

also sorta off topic but did anyone talk to that kid with the thinking helmet on under the bridge he sent a chill up my spine when i asked the future of everywhere...

It's not just about the dam. Unless you put a "whole" before and "n area the game takes place in" after it.

Seriously, get to know the people in the land, and empathise with whoever you can. There is far more "pull" that way.

meh i just wish the main quest felt more like a main quest and not like a ton of side missions to help a faction i really dont care about lol

also heres some examples of other fallout games (spoilers for them)

i mean fallout 1 find a water chip for your vault and stop the super mutant army
fallout 2 find geck to help village then get revenge on and stop the enclave
fallout 3 find father then fix water purifier to help the wasteland while at the same time stopping enclave from mass genocide

the story of this one just dosent feel as grand scope or as enthralling as the others so far

Find the guy who nearly killed you, retrieve your package and then use it to change the fate of the Mojave Wasteland.

See, I can do that even during times of sleep deprivation. ^_^

If you don't care about a faction, then just create your own personal paradise. There's a path for that, too.
