[REQ/IDEA] Realistic weapon maintenance

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 1:55 am

Hey guys, sorry for another request so soon, but I had another idea for a mod that forced you to actually take good care of your weapons, or be forced to face the results! Like it would depend on the condition of the gun, how often it would jam, and you'd have to unjam it ( it would automatically be done once it would jam, with a custom animation of course!, how often it would misfire, or not fire at all! I think this would be great, and add another field of immersion to the game!

My http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1149714-relz-arwens-nv-realism-tweaks-thread-5/ already does much of this:

"- The condition of the gun has less effect on how much damage it does, but Damaged Guns are a bit less accurate (more spread when damaged).
- Damaged Guns will not fire as fast, are less accurate (more spread when damaged), and have a greater chance of jamming after reloading. And Automatic Weapons now take a bit longer to cool down."

well by default, the damage you do is affected by the condition of your weapons so that's incentive enough to maintain it. my personal view is it shouldnt affect damage so much as jamming chances so i made my own esp that gave a 5% chance to jam at 80-90% condition and progressed to 45% chance at 0-10% condition. However, the geck wiki reports (and ive seen it) a bug with automatic weapons persistently jamming once a jam is triggered.
