I REALLY miss...

It was in Morrowind, I'm not quite sure about Oblivion, but it's definitely an epic miss in Skyrim: the LEVITATE spell! How neat would it be with the mountanous terrain and all that. I really miss the spell, it was my best friend in Morrowind. :(

TCL in the console and there you go levitate! :D

There will be mods out that will have more proper levitation though. The reason why it's not in is because of the biggest cities being their own separate worldspace.

I wonder how to get around that fact. After all it will be odd if you can't levitate over the walls in to cities.

Me too! The dremora specifically. They were my favorite enemies to fight in both Morrowind and Oblivion.

But I guess they went the route of showing that they've been 'weakened' since the Oblivion Crisis.

I miss text on black backgrounds and typing your actions.

Who needs all these spanky graphics and controllers or mouses? (mice? is there even a plural to mouse?)

Games change, wonder what people will miss about Skyrim in TES : VI?

( Nothing! Beat you to it... :P )

Levitate was ok, I never used it that much. I used waterwalking more. As far as athleics being gone.. I'm ok with it not leveling up. But some races should have a little more jump and be a bit quicker then other from the start. Khajiit especially

There were open cities mods for Oblivion, I'm sure there will be similar mods in Skyrim. Lore-wise I explain the absence of levitation in Skyrim with the disappearance of Mage's Guild. The College just isn't as advanced place of learning magic as the Mage's Guild.

I made a mod for Morrowind, Travel Essentials that had a Jet Pack in it. A belt with Levitate 100 Points, Speed 100 Points. It was a nice way to get around and with FPS Optimizer if I went high enough, I could see the entire island.

I already checked, and there's nowhere in Whiterun that I could find where you could jump over the wall, like you could in Bruma and likely other cities in Oblivion. I jumped the wall in Bruma once and ran around the world, and it was pretty weird. All kinds of messed up textures and whatnot.

Hmm... could be argued that the removal of levitate has made the game topographically more linear.

The problem for me is the well... problems, that levitate caused. I would hate to see people miss the time developers put into the 7,000 steps by just flying straight to High Hrothgar or the Throat of the World for that matter.

It presents a strange dynamic for combat as well, and while there are many solutions to this... the player would inevitably and easily bypass some fights or more horizontally inclined puzzles or paths.

I guess, I really miss spellcrafting but would easily consider it a necessary cut if the dual-wielding mechanic was expanded upon.
