All my Nords hate the Thalmor and the Empire so I have several.
  • One of my characters was a former Imperial Soldier who's family was murdered by the Thalmor for worshipping Talos and now wants revenge. He travels to Skyrim after hearing about the Stormcloak rebellion but gets caught while crossing the border.
  • Another was a former Knight turned Priest of Talos, angered at the Worship of Talos being banned he takes up arms against the Empire and the Thalmor.
  • Lastly, one of my Female Nords a former Bar Wench, was attacked and used by a group of Thalmor soldiers who after recovering, decides that the only good Elf is a dead one.
That's just a few of many all personal. On the whole though it depends what race you'd choose, all would have their reasons for hating the Thalmor.

They're trying to unmake the world so as to become spirits again.

What appears to be an Altmeri commentary on Talos

To kill Man is to reach Heaven, from where we came before the Doom Drum's iniquity. When we accomplish this, we can escape the mockery and long shame of the Material Prison.
To achieve this goal, we must:
1) Erase the Upstart Talos from the mythic. His presence fortifies the Wheel of the Convention, and binds our souls to this plane.
2) Remove Man not just from the world, but from the Pattern of Possibility, so that the very idea of them can be forgotten and thereby never again repeated.[/indent]
3) With Talos and the Sons of Talos removed, the Dragon will become ours to unbind. The world of mortals will be over. The Dragon will uncoil his hold on the stagnancy of linear time and move as Free Serpent again, moving through the Aether without measure or burden, spilling time along the innumerable roads we once travelled. And with that we will regain the mantle of the imperishable spirit.

There's also the fact that they're basically Fantastic Nazi's.

If it's good enough for Henry Jones, Jr. . .

Try talking with any of them, specifically the one that wanders Understone Keep in Markarth. They give you reasons to hate them.

They're like Elven Nazi's...

It should be noted that document was written when Oblivion was still new and has never actually appeared in-game. There is no proof linkng it to the thalmor.

.......
You shouldn't dislike the Thalmor. As the superior elven race, we are the rightful rulers of Tamriel.

They're the cause behind all the events that leads you to be on the chopping block in Helgen. isn't that enough?

Race related reason:
Imperial: they ravaged your homeland
Redguard: Redguards fought the second great war which ended in a 'cold war' state (despite being able to repel them)
Wood Elves: took over the country, placed a puppet government and started ethnic cleansing
High Elves: took over the country and started mass purge of dissidents
Kajjit: The Thalmor are invading their country
Argonians: ???
Dunmer: ???
Bretons: they fought for the empire in the first great war, lots of causalities.

To add to your list.

Dunmer: The aldmeri dominion of old(Which is quite similar to the current one) banished them from Summerset when they decided to practice daedra worship. Both orsimer and dunmer are on the "So impure it's not funny" list for thalmor. Both would receive a cleansing that would include the entire race.

Then why would the Altmer go to such great efforts to stop Talos worship? Besides, if you take that passage as canon the Thalmor become far more interesting. Otherwise they're just Nazi-Elfs which, to me, is boring.

My nord character hates the Thalmor because they almost eliminated his clan and they want to ban the worship of Talos.

I was mostly disappointed I couldn't join them. It's the Sixth House all over again!

But if I wanted an excuse I guess my character could be pissed off about the war they started.
