can anyone recap for me the story from morrowind to present day skyrim, update me on key points in the story. I'd like to know
what happened before skyrim because the game talks back about what happened *red mountain* but doesn't explain so ye please
keep me in the flow of the story line

There isn't really a continuous 'story'. Ther'es a history of the world, of course, but it's not like these all fit together in one narrative - is that what you're after?

Well actually the stories due technically seem to fit into each other such as the reason there are loads of dunmer in windhelm or vampires are in skyrim.

The ES series doesn't have a continuous 'story.' Aside from some high level metaphisics the main storylines are unconnected.

That said,if you want to learn about Tamrielic history I recommend looking http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Main_Page or on the timeline at The Imperial Library.

The dunmer in Windhelm is not really related to the story of Morrowind - it happens because of events after the game. So I'd check the Imperial Library like Floor Below suggests.
