Reccomendations for cheap headphones.

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 1:31 pm

I want to be immersed in skyrims sights and sounds but those sounds may be drowned out by my family... so my fellow forum prowlers do any of you guys have any suggestions for a relatively cheap set of headphones that will let me hear everything skyrim has to offer?

You could try two old tin cans attached with string, that would be very cheap, but I wouldn't recommend it.

How cheap is cheap?

The http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Portable-Stereophone-Headphones/dp/B0006B486K/ref=dp_cp_ob_e_title_1/192-2242821-6568254 is probably one of the best out there if you are on a budget.

Honestly any over the ear model will be sufficient. If you really want noise canceling you'll have to shell out for a special pair that has it, but I don't like it because I always feel a "pressure" when wearing them on account of all the destructive interference (which is how they "cancel" outside noise).

Personally I use earbuds, which offer next to no shelter from the outside noise but are more comfortable for long term use and way cheaper. Not that http://www.retrevo.com/content/files/images/products/skullcandy-earbuds-blue.jpg either. The normal kind. http://www.amazon.com/CreativeLabs-Creative-EP-480-headphones-51MZ0170AA039/dp/B000BD665Y/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1320752129&sr=1-5 Play Skyrim in your room with the door shut to keep noise out, or put a set of http://www.amazon.com/4800-SMITH-WESSON-SUPPRESSOR-MUFF/dp/B000SZC8IO/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1320752235&sr=1-2-catcorr on top of whatever you have if you've just gotta have isolation. :P

I use http://www.amazon.com/Universal-PC-Stereo-Gaming-Headset-TM-YB100A/dp/B001FY7LBQ, they're certainly nothing special but they get the job done and they're cheap.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Citronic-HP500PRO-DJ-Headphones/dp/B000KDM7DA The bass on them is amazing for the price, they don't spill much at all and they're really comfy. I know it's Citronic which is usually cheap and nasty, but this is one of their items that isn't rubbish.

For gaming (particularly an Elder Scrolls game), bass isn't that important. I'd want a fairly balanced sound, especially if the aim is to "be immersed in skyrims sights and sounds...hear everything skyrim has to offer ".

SickayBoy, you'd best give us a price range. When it comes to audio equipment, "cheap" can easily mean a hundred bucks ;) (or more).
