Guess no one started a new thread, so here goes...

Anywho, been eyeing this guitar up for quite some time now, and with Guitar Center's Rocktober sale coupon, buying it was a no brainer.

Last music related purchase was a cd; A Wayfarers' Tears by Godsend. Happy with the purchase, I've been enjoying it.

Bought the Avett Brothers CD. Heard them after listening to every Mumford and Sons song on Youtube then decided to give Avett Bros. a whirl. I love it. Hopefully will be able to get a ticket to a Mumford and Sons show in the spring or at one of those summer festivals. I would brave the awful crowds to go see them play.

Last purchase was http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Early-Recordings-Chronogical-Order/dp/B00004S5WA/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1319252794&sr=8-5, when it was $15.99. Highly recommended for any jazz or acoustic guitar fans.

A Chopin collection
Cubase 6 (Came with a trial version of Halion symphonic orchestra, which I'm having a lot of fun with, but is nowhere near worth it's price tag  . Thank god for piracy)

Next on the agenda is a 7 string, 29 fret Kramer guitar, which looks pretty beautiful. Can't wait.

I demand a link to this guitar. It intrigues me.

I bought Blink 182's newest album a few weeks ago. Yeah, I still buy CDs. Feels like I'm in the minority.

The last CD I bought was in 2004. I just download music now digitally.

I hope Tom Petty plays at Summerfest this year. That's all I wish for.

I've thought about doing that but the only digital music retailer I know of is the iTunes store. I try to avoid using any service provided by Apple if I can. So, yeah. Been stuck with CDs, friends, and YouTube.

I'd prefer it in black, but what can you do.

Thanks! That's an interesting shape. Looks good, though. Aside from the purpleness.

I honestly didn't even know 29 fret guitars existed. Those last few frets must be a pain to play.

I was actually eyeing a 36 fret one at first.. but that would have been truly ridiculous to play. Not to mention it was more than twice the price.

Purple is okay

Yeah, I still buy CDs. Feels like I'm in the minority.

I buy them sometimes, but only when I want to have the physical product (a favourite band, so I can enjoy the artwork/liner notes) or if it's signed/limited edition or if I can't buy a digital version. I prefer MP3s because they take up less space and I can have them instantly.

I've thought about doing that but the only digital music retailer I know of is the iTunes store. I try to avoid using any service provided by Apple if I can. So, yeah. Been stuck with CDs, friends, and YouTube.

I usually use Amazon because they tend to be much cheaper than iTunes. They were selling albums for £3 (about $5) the other day, and sometimes have individual tracks and label compilations up for free.

I'm currently in love with the new dEUS album, http://www.sputnikmusic.com/review/45525/dEUS-Keep-You-Close/.

I don't like digitally downloaded music. I only buy CDs. Feels like you own the music that way, more so than a download. It's worth the extra money just to have a physical reminder that you bought it. And you can rip it to lossless and re-encode to anything after that.

If only there were places to download lossless files, I'd consider it. Not counting the "high resolution" audiophool sites.

Depending on what the artist allows for, and the lengths to which they go, Bandcamp has a lossless option (for the same price as any other format). That does rely on the artist you want music from being on Bandcamp, though...

Most recently... Ooh, I can't remember... Probably the newest Mastodon album - which I still haven't gotten around to listening to yet even though it was about a month ago. Going to a Sonic Boom Six gig tomorrow though. Then Capdown on Tuesday. Hooray hurrah!

I almost exclusively buy CDs too. However, Bandcamp is just pure win. All FLAC all the time.

HDtracks looks to be okay (though I haven't used it) as long as you do your research on a specific album. 24/96 ain't better than 16/44 but it ain't worse either. Just gotta make sure the album isn't a bad remaster or something shady. I've seen people mention that they've had vinyl rips on their site but they weren't labelled as such.

Bought all of [voodoopony]'s stuff a couple days ago.

My last music related purchases were a couple of Five Finger Death Punch t-shirts. I'm probably going to buy their new cd tomorrow, along with the new Misfits cd.

Yeah, apparently Nirvana's new "Nevermind" master on HDTracks is one to be avoided. Louder than the CD and clips. I think the files you get when you buy it are actually different from the samples they provide.

Bandcamp's great, but so far I've only downloaded free albums on it. Mostly pony stuff

Totally forgot about this thread. Was ages since the last one.

Recent purchases:

Gojira - "From Mars to Sirius", double LP, limited edition white vinyl (Hasn't arrived yet)
Tickets to watch "Destroyers of the Faith" in March, I'm going for Triptykon and Enslaved, not so arsed about Job for a Cowboy and Cannibal Corpse
Tickets to watch Mastodon in February
Tickets for Wolves in the Throne Room on Friday

And on Friday I bought a handcrafted http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ba%C4%9Flama :)

Been talking to a guy I know about making a guitar as well, been looking for a new guitar for some 6-8 months now and I can't commit to any, so this might be the way forward.

Also - 36 fret guitars? What the hell

Went to a three-act concert Friday night. Jimmie Vaughan followed by Jonny Lang and, ultimately, Buddy Guy. Picked up an autographed copy of Buddy's latest album on vinyl.

All this interesting stuff. All I have managed recently is banjo strings, although a year or so ago, I found a fully functioning (after liberal application of pliers to the bottom 'C' key) flute, in a charity shop, for the unbelievably low sum of thirty pounds. Result and a half.

It's pretty good. That's it really, not stunning, not rubbish, just pretty good. That was what I expected so I'm not disappointed.

As for me I bought:

Melechesh - Emissaries, limited edition picture disc vinyl
Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness, black vinyl
Morbid Angel - Blessed Are the Sick, white/blue splatter vinyl
Van Der Graaf Generator - Still Life and Pawn Hearts, both on vinyl

And also a ticket to Damnation Festival on saturday. As for buying physical copies of things, I prefer cheap (or free) MP3 downloads and then buying a copy on vinyl if I can. Much prefer the sound on vinyl, and I'm a bit of a collector.
