All kinds of customization would be nice. Tinting or painting armor, with patterns much like the war paint and scars you can apply to your character's face. Different engraving patterns. I would like to see a number of various armor types just for the cosmetic differences alone.

I'll admit to never having used any mods, on either Skyrim or even Oblivion, although people say it makes a huge difference with Oblivion's appearance. I guess I just have an inordinate fear of things glitching and going awry.

YO DAWG. I HEARD YOU LIKE DRAGONS. SO I PUT A DRAGON ON YOUR DRAGON ARMOR.

Actually, that would make Dragonbone look less silly...

I don't know about naysayers. There are those who would say, "Who sees your character but you?" or "Why differentiate your character in a single player non online game"

However, there is no game related reason why one should not be able to tint or change the armor other than the save or game files getting even bigger than they are. How much bigger is the question, but I doubt it would be more than a 10 or 20 MB of game files to create this. Save files would probably not get too much bigger.

Save file size WOULD be the more reasonable point for anyone to oppose it.

But being the pessimist that I am, I just figured people would be all like "PFEH! U WANNA COLOR UR hardcoe DAEDRIC ARMR ANOTHR COLR OTHER THN BLACK??! BLACK IS TEH COOLEST EVIL COLOR EVAR."

Or the next one in line, "Skyrim is supposed to be realistic. Even though it's in a fantasy setting..."

Hey, dammit. Fable III painted armor. I want to paint armor.

There should be some realism in Skyrim. Fantasy is a realistic ground with magic and fantastic creatures added on.

well, for example, I had attacked and killed the guards at the prison that were all wearing glass armor.I have kept them with the intention of hiring many different followers/companions. Then giving them each ther same suit of armor for MY army.It would be easier to identify them if I was able to make them all blue.plus it also helps in battles if you can differentiate YOUR follower from the rest.

True. I never give Lydia a helmet for that very reason.

1-Armor, Weapon, Clothes dyeing
2-Appearance Slots
3-Accessory Slots and Clothing that can be worn in conjunction with Armor (Cloaks, Tabards, Hoods etc)
4-Many, many more armor and weapon models

I don't care about lore. I like making my character look cool and take pride in appearance. It is a game after all.

I agree.. I want a real looking mage robe with proper stats.. my master robe looks like a long tunic with leggings.. Instead of a hood a witches hat would be good too. I don't care if only I see her, I would like more colours in the game. Would be cool to make dyes / paints with alchemy too

Stick with texture/mesh replacers, then. And entirely self-contained mods.

I'd love to be able to change the appearance of my armor, so I can look badass, without having to look evil, I dont know about adding vanity slots though.
I guess it would be okay to add a robe over your armor to blend in when you go into town, but not anything like certain mmos, that lets you hide full armor under a skimpy dress....
