Recommend Me A Phone

Have a an older phone that's close to 5 maybe 6 years old or older *originally had a brick of a cellphone* and i'm thinking it's time I upgrade. I absolute refuse to hit up the verizon store near me since they are jerks and screw people over continuously so i'll be running by bestbuy.

Thinking about going for one of those Droid Razrs but haven't heard too many good things. I'm not into apple products but I am tempted to go with an Iphone 4s with the main problem being i've seen videos of *tests* done where the screen easily cracks. I would like a phone that has a little bit of structure to it without having to baby the darn thing.

To help everyone out here's what i'm looking at:

1. Contract Renegotiation- I need to do this if I upgrade since my current plan has no data coverage. Already plan on getting unlimited data coverage or atleast the highest possible number. Not going to download huge files but would like to have some leeway before I run into the red zone.
2. Spending Limit - I'm limiting myself to about $200 because I need to upgrade some software I have which won't be cheap. If necessary I can splurge a "tiny" bit more to $300 but that would be the absolute maximum.
3. Preferences - none phones are just phones to me I can't really tell the dang difference though it would be cool to have a touch phone type of deal. :D
4. Provider - Right now i'm off the leash with Verizon so I can change service providers if I want though from what is out there verizon is probably the best i'll get.
