I'm currently on the quest to recover the elder scroll. I am in Alftand, and just reached the Blackreach entrance.
When I go inside Blackreach, the map marker is suddenly across the map a great distance, am I actually supposed to travel *that* far within Blackreach, or am I misunderstanding something and I need to exit out to Skyrim?
You have to travel that far unfortunately.....but on a positive note Blackreach is probably the most amazing place in Skyrim. The scenery is amazing, there's a lot of enemies to kill, a quest to collect 20 Crimson Nirnoroot (which is easier than expected) and a shed load of loot.
It is obscenely massive. Plan to be down there a while: it's the best area in the entire game, and it would be a shame to just barge across for the one quest and not at least look around.
And don't forget the FUS the 'Sun' while you're in there. You'll know what i mean when you see it. Really nice surprise there.
Why didn't you say Elder Scroll in the thread title? It helps because there's more than one item recovery quest. Someone might be looking for a spoiler for another item recovery quest but not this one. I actually thought you meant that guy in Whiterun asking you to recover his father's sword...
I'm currently carrying at capacity already... I guess I should go all the way back out and come back to go through Blackreach. *sigh*
