Recruitment for the Blades

Well, yes, I know about Paarthurnax. But I'm just gonna ressurect him using the console. Or so I hope.

Role playing aside, doing this will not reset the flag for the Graybeards and they will still consider you a murderer but they still non-aggressive just a little pissed that you killed an age old mentor.

If you really want to mess with the world via the command console skip the quest using the setstage command and the Blades are none the wiser about it. The ressurect command can cause additional bugs if your not careful.

Perhaps there is a console command to allow for more than 3 recruits?

Did I miss out on something because I refused to kill Paarthurnax? I don't remember Blades recruitment...

I actually climbed the Throat of the World determined to kill Paarthurnax just for the sake of not missing out on possible Blades quests. Then he started talking about redemption and I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Killing your mentor because someone selfishly ordered you to is nuts, Paarthurnax is awesome, and I'm pretty sure the Greybeards would tear me a new one.

I figured out how to bypass Paarthurnax without the Greybeards getting angry still retaining all of Paarty's speech options.

All you need to do is advance the "Paarthurnax" quest to stage 100 using console commands. The Blades are happy, and no one else thinks you've killed him. And then you can continue the Blades missions, which involve recruiting three new members and dragon hunting. I've decided on my second recruit: Erandur, the Dark Elf. Just need one more. An Orc, a Nord, or a Khajiit?

You don't miss out on anything. After you recruit 3 members into the blades, you can use them to follow you on dragon hunts that Esbern gives you from time to time. If you spared Paarthurnax, then the Greybeards continue to give you quests for dragons and words of power like they always have.

The only advantage I see to recruiting members into the Blades, is so that you can recruit those followers who aren't always in the same place when you go looking for them. After you recruit them, they'll always be in the temple. I never use followers myself so it's a non issue.

I personally feel the Blades are a more interesting group than the Greybeards, and hunting dragons with them is amusing.

Alright, I've decided I want a human to be the last recruit. But who? Argis the Bulwark? Erik? Who?!!?!
