Red X on map.

The paper map you get with the game, there are numerous red X's on it. Anyone know what they are for?

Places of interest.
Things like Labyrinthian, Dwemer ruins with entrances to the Blackreach, various stones; many different things.

Thank you for asking this! I was wondering the same but always forgot to ask. Now I'm enlightened too. :)

May I be so impolite to hijack this thread for another little question? Does anyone know which book it is in Skyrim that holds the lyrics from the main theme, both in Dragon language and in English?

I've searched myself silly in the wiki but to no avail, yet I'm certain that I held it in my hands once in the game. I want it on the bookshelf in my newly purchased home!

They don't just indicate standing stones. There's other stuff too.
Otherwise I'd like to see a screenshot of the standing stone at Labyrinthian or Meridia's Shrine, for example. :P

So they are all different, nothing specific, just interesting stuff.
I remember in Morrowind they were the locations of shipwrecks but that obviously cant be the same here.

I went to one X, and found nothing lol, but i must've missed it. I spent a good 20 minutes poking around the supposed X spot though.
