Red Orchestra!

Didn't see a thread for this series, so here it is. The beta for RO2 is out if you pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition, which is up on Steam. It's one of the most realistic shooters I've ever played.

Do they still have it set up that it takes more than one person to pilot a tank? I liked the original when it was city maps well enough and I'm sure the open maps would be fun with friends but just pubbing it really wasn't that great. No one wanted to partake in teamwork so you just had a whole bunch of people driving tanks by themselves and then switching to the seat. I've thought about buying it just because I like Tripwire but I'm undecided at this point.

I don't think the beta has tank use. There's a huge list of videos, I'll see if I can find the link.

I loved Red Orchestra 1. Had many hours of gameplay out of the Red Orchestra and Darkest Hour.

Beta has tank use and has revamped the tank system to allow both solo tanking and group tanking at the choice of the tank commander. I absolutely love it though the solo tanking feels clunky sometimes.

Won't be able to play until I get home and even then only for a few days for now. Looking forward to it as I was enjoying the bit I played of the first Red Orchestra.

I love Red Orchestra but as a tank man in RL too I only play as a panzerbesatzung... Usually as a Commander/Gunner, as I'm quite talented as one.

Saw some hilarious gameplay footage from Gamescom http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcvyeekjq_s. The dev appears to be way more interested in what's going on in the game than to actually explain the game. :P

Apparently this dev also did some voice acting in Killing Floor so if you've played that his voice should be familiar.

I havene't played the first game but the gameplay really appeals to me. I like the idea of killing somebody with a single bullet. The cover system looks good as well in that you don't go into third person, so you can't see over your cover unless you risk poking your head out. I can't wait for 32vs32 games, that will be terrifying.

That was awesome. I shall be getting this game at some point. I'm just abit tight for cash at the moment.
