Reload bug

Post » Wed May 11, 2011 5:56 am

it seems since the patch the reload bug where your basically helpless for anywhere from 2 seconds to 15 seconds (cant shoot back cant aim, can barely move) after reloading any weapon where you put the ammo in one by one happens much more frequently now.

i seem to get it about 50% of the time where as pre patch it only happened like... 25% of the time, it seems to love to happen with the shotguns the most.

so i have to scratch those weapons off my use list until something gets fixed. a Pity too cause i loves me my boomstick.

Just hit the fire button after reloading such a weapon in crouch mode.

It won't fire a shot, it will return your controls to normal.

Definitely a work around, but at least it keeps you functional.

This was indicated to be an "incremental fix" until the full patch came out next week probably.

Seems it was more experimental than incremental.

The thing that worries me about the patch notes is that they are mentioning specific weapons, when the problem is endemic to the scripting that kicks in for any weapon where the player can interrupt the reload process (basically anything that loads ammo in single units at a time).

I really hope they take the time to fix that script because their experiment here made the problem worse rather than better.
