Reloading while running?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:32 pm

Not related to what has been said before me:

1.Reloading while running seems to fit Brink.

2. Reloading while running could be so noobish so easily.

3. Reloading while running would be a better skill for lights than heavies.

4. So, giving it to everyone might not work.

5.You only have 3 slots for abilities.

6. It would make no sense as a medic buff or anything like that.

Therefore...

a) Reloading while running could be a minor skill unlocked as you level up.

B) It could be limited, eg to a single class/body-type.

I like a) more, a reward for leveling up. But it shouldn't be a high level upgrade, just not available from the start.

skills arent limited to bodytype like they are to class. lights will get more use of this than heavies will. it should still be available to all bodytypes. the heavies could just choose something else

It would be nice if BRINK went the route of Crackdown on upgradings skills.... the more you use it, the better you get at it. That way, people who are constantly reloading on the run will be proficient at it much quicker than people that like to reload behind cover. Obviously the people doing it are getting practice at it, and as such, they are getting better. I know I wouldn't want to have to waste XP or a great skillset for the ability to reload on the run.... because I most likely would.

Reloading at a full paced run could come in handy in many firefights.... so I would definitely do what I could to use it, but it would be nice to just start off with the ability.

no. running while reloading depends on gamestyle. why should we punsh thse who dont want to reload while running because it dosnt fit their playstyle. it would only suit light more and make it over powered if yu got better a it and those stayng stll didnt. if anything was done to make something harder you should be slower a reloading while running sice you have less stability than if you were staying stil and reloading

Ok, I have to say I like the idea... BUT for some reason I don't want this in it. I'm happy to be reloading while running, but if thre is a sprint button then reloading during that I would say no. If your trying to sprint I don't think you want to be reloading your weapon as it would slow you down a lot! lol

I agree, if you are sprinting then there should be no way you can reload. Reloading while just running is fine.

I like the idea
I noticed it first in BC2 compared to MW2 which I had been playing for a while. It definitely allows for more fluid gameplay.
They said that they don't really want real barriers (the whole "You're a trained Soldier so why the hell not" thing they used as an argument for SMART) and I'd say having to move at brisk walking pace to reload especially with weapons with long reloads(looking at you MW2 LMGs) causes a rather big break in gameplay.
maybe a reload penalty while sprinting but nothing that interrupts it and forces you to start over.

1. Yes

2. No

3. Could be more useful yes

4. I don't see why not.

5. It will probably be a passive, universal ability, such as battle hardened.

6. Nope, it would not.

^i like this idea. and its fairly easy to reload a gun while moving at higher speeds, (if i can do it with a paintball gun, then trained soldiers better be able to). Yeah, i agree, not sprinitng, but running would be more accurate.

I vote yes. I like how you can reload while sprinting in Borderlands. I hope the same feature is in Brink.

I think that you should be able to reload and run at the same time, cuz when I'm playing BFBC2 and I'm running towards an enemy or objective I find it very usefull to be able to get in a firefight and then be able to run and reload where as in MW2 you must stop sprinting reload and walk and once finished you can return to sprinting. Overall it would help out a lot in many situations but there should also be a quick way to cancel reloading if you need to fire upon someone (if you still have ammo).

Reloading while sprinting was already discussed awhile ago by devs. Here is Rahdo mentioning it in CoG interview in June:

“The Universal abilities can be used no matter what class you are, and there’s a bunch to choose from here as well -- from simple things like making your life meter longer, to fancy things like shooting grenades out of the air, to hardcoe things like reloading while sprinting or grenade cooking.”

Lol, I don't think COD will never go into the boundaries of reloading while running!
