[RELZ] Remove Compass POI Markers

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:17 am

This mod will remove the Points of Interest (POI) and quest markers that appear below the compass. This mod is for people that like to discover things on their own.

This mod can be used in conjunction with my http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1124555-relz-remove-compass-npc-markers/ mod to turn your compass into just that, a compass.

Nice, it was one of the first things I installed after installing FO3 for the first time and I still haven't discovered all locations. Which is awesome. :D

Edit: Actually, I think I'd like to keep quest markers. Then again, I don't think the desert is as complicated to navigate as DC with its metro tunnels on the first playthrough... We'll see how it goes! :D

Can you by any chance just remove the compass all together?

I removed the hud completely,
but that meant that I didnt know what items I was picking up,
and it would really help to inspect an item before I pick it up,
rather than look it up in my inventory.

If you could remove the compass and all other markers,
even weapon info etc, but leave in the text you see when picking stuff up,
I'd apprechiate it beyond words m8.

It is easy enough for me to make a mod that removes the compass entirely. However, to remove everything in the HUD is significantly more work. For that, you may just have to wait until DarN releases his updated UI. That should allow you to pick and choose what you want to see through the configuration file.

If you want the compass removed entirely, would you also want the directional arrow in the Pip-Boy remove? Or, do you consider that to be more like a GPS unit that you are checking to figure out your direction?

Thx for making this mod.

Once I got FONV to start (took awhile), I loaded this and the no NPC marker mods before ever even starting the game. I enjoy playing so much more when my char doesn't magically know things, like who's around the corner or that there's something to explore on the other side of the mountain.
