After coming out of Bennys room at the Tops casino, i'm greeted by a man from Caesars Legion who says they've forgiven all my acts.

Well, once I go down to the shore to catch raft to Caesars base, a Legion Scout runs up and asks what I'm doing there. I show him the mark of Caesar, and he says cool beans.

right afterwards, the mofo proceeds to attack me. :/ so I kill him, and all the legion act the same way.

I've killed tons of legion, but i thought i was forgiven? wtf?

He forgave you once. You go around with Boone who outright states he'll kill all Legion he or running around in NCR stuff, the benefit of it gets lost.

If you go around with Boone or if you wear NCR clothes then they're gonna attack you

I do have Boone, but for some reason, he isn't even around anymore. I still have the associated perks, but no Boone. Are you saying that to complete this quest I have to get rid of Boone as my accomplice? (even though I dont know where he is?)

also, i was wearing Legion clothes, not NCR, and the bastards still attacked me.

I had a similar strange thing happen at that point for me, too.

I'd previously cleaned out Cottonwood Cove. When I went back there after getting the Mark, some guy (a named unique, maybe?) attacked me from the top of one of the buildings. Got negative rep for killing him, but it didn't mess up my relations with any further Legion guys, thankfully.

(No NCR clothes, and Cass. And no one ran up and asked to see the Mark.)

Hmm maybe turning up into a police station wearing a dead policeman's uniform is not a good idea! Same for your Legion uniform - you are not a member. You need to find Boone and temporarily dismiss him too. Just try jumping to all your visited locations, starting with where you found him.

You don't have to dismiss boone. Just don't bring him with you. If you go down there, and don't leave him waiting somewhere, he will dismiss himself anyway. He says as much to you if he is with you when you get close to Cottonwood Cove.

No, you have to dismiss him. If Boone is in your party, Legion are hostile. Some moreso than others. Cove and Fort being in the more category.

He doesn't say he'll dismiss himself. He says he'll kill every single Legion he sees.
