I just came across something very disturbing:

I am currently idolized by everyone but the Legion and Powder Gangers; this status even shows up on my world map and general screen. However, when I travel to Hoover Dam or Helios One----or pretty much any NCR controlled location---a few NPCs show up as hostile and next thing you know, everyone attacks me!

I am not wearing faction armor and I have switched Boone's armor around to see if that was the issue. Apparently not. I had recently completed Arcade Gannon's special quest and instructed the Enclave Remnant to help NCR. I also just cleared out Cesar's Fort......... This is real upsetting because I am at the last leg of the game, 70 hours in, and cannot find the cause for NCR becoming hostile!


Any suggestions?!

I've seen a few people mention this problem. Most find that reloading their save fixes the problem but if you try this a few times and nothing happens I'd suggest finding a remote location and resting for 72 hours and then seeing if it's still an issue.

If you search around you should find some other threads on the topic and they may have other things to try.

Yeah, I've been looking around this forum for different tips. I'll try your tip first though.

I have 15 hard saves to choose from so it's not like I have to start all over but I really hate backtracking--even if it means I have to go a couple of hours back. How frustrating.

I think I know what caused the problem. After killing Caesar at the Fort, I went back to my Novac hotel room and tried on his outfit just for a laugh. Took it off before leaving the room but I think that doing this screwed up the game's rep system. Inexcusable for the game to do this.
