Rest in Peace Erik the Slayer

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 11:13 am

On our Wedding day, Erik took it upon himself to attack me, we were in the Temple of Mara, and the priests and Mjoll were there to take him down, and he died...

Is that the worst wedding day ever or what? I even waited to get married until we had a place in Riften to call home. *sigh*

I've heard of weddings interrupted by dead, decapitated ex-followers.

Silver lining is that you've been spared what could have been an abusive marriage lol

Sounds like a bad episode of Bridezillas.

I married Erik also.I had to do the ceremony 3 times because he kept tearing out of the church before I could talk to him about the living arrangements.I knew something was up with him.All is well now.He just cooks for me and gives me his money and then I leave him to go adventuring.A marriage made in heaven!

Ouch. And I was considering marrying him. I married Farkas instead. It was a wonderful ceremony, albeit a bit dull. Seems no one from the Thieves Guild chose to show up, and I'm the bloody leader! Meh, either way, really shows the dynamic of the game sometimes, although sometimes not at the most opportune moments!

Amazingly enough nobody has a video of this to show!

Oh dear, what triggered the brawl?

I'd planned to have him tank for the Mage, and then swing swords side by side with my barbarian dual wielder, but after the wedding on the mage went awry, I loaded up the barbarian, and tried to dismiss him, and no matter how I did it, he ended up going agro on me permanently. I even kept him around until I had a replacement for him in Farkas, and then the companions had to kill him.

So to answer your question, I blame separation anxiety.

I tried to marry Derkeethus a few times... but he always ran out of the temple and disappeared. Even if I spoke to him before he left he'd still disappear.

Marriage is a bit of a gimmick, the absence of which would not be missed.
