[help] Rideable creatures leaving the Player behind when mov

Post » Sun Jun 17, 2012 6:48 pm

I'm having some issues with turning creatures into rideable mounts. I can successfully mount a Sabrecat, and make him run about, but the Player is left floating in the air in the 'mounted' pose where he initially got on the creature. The camera just follows the Sabrecat as you run around (which is still cool, just not what I'm looking for).

Anyone know why this is occuring and how to fix it so the player moves with the creature, just like on a horse?

Thanks a bunch!

Somewhat related, I actually had this happen without the aide of a mod. Just randomly my horse took off without my character in the saddle. The only way I could fix it was going to a previous save. I don't know what caused it though.

How did you add the mount option to the sabre cat? I am actually trying to do the same thing, did you place the saddlebones from the horse into the sabre skeleton? it is required so that both actors transform together

I have copied the saddlebone branch from the horse skeleton and added it to my skeleton. The player now moves with the mount, but I'm encountering two problems. One, the player does not animate on the mount (he sits but is totally stock still) and two, when I go over a slope he 'falls off' and is then in running animation on top of the mount!
If I overwrite my skeleton with the horse skeleton, of course my mount doesn't animate (expected) but interestingly the player does animate correctly (except for the 'falling off' bug).
Can anyone offer any thoughts? Did I miss something in copying the entire saddle branch over?
Also, mounting/dismounting locations, how are those set?
Thanks!

MeowCat, were you able to get your player to follow your mount by adding a saddlebone to the skeleton?
