Rieklings in Skyrim?

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 5:37 am

So a couple questions about the old MW-Bloodmoon Rieklings.

1) What happened to them? Why are they not in Skyrim? I really expected to find camps of Rieklings riding their Tusked Bristlebacks. So where are they (or any boars for that matter)?

2) In Bloodmoon Risi Ice-Mane was quoted as saying, "Some call them the Falmer, claim they are related to the other elves..." Well they are sure a lot different than the Falmer we have now. So what kind of creatures could they have been?

3) Did they look too much like Smurfs and thus not dark and gritty enough for Skyrim?

I miss 'em too, maybe they were wiped out over the several hundred years between then and now?

I know some Nords thought they were Snow Elves but they were wrong or something? I never really looked into it that far.

I didnt really expect Rieklings, but i was almost certain they were going to include wild boar in skyrim. it would have fitted the theme perfectly.

True. Would have enjoyed hunting wild boar. They were even in Cyrodiil...

Maybe all of Solstheim is one, big day care center for the Falmer on the mainland.

perhaps they were a completely different creature, perhaps they were a branch of falmer after years and years of inbreeding.
perhaps now that there seems to be an Snow Giant in Dawnguard (like Kaarstag, if thats how you spell it), perhaps there are a few rieklings about.. they did show in the gamejam video they had been making some more goblin like creatures, what better for skyrim that a rieklings... they even put in mounted combat now so the rieklings and there bristlebacks could be seperate :o

Hadn't thought about the lack of mounted combat prior to the 1.6 patch. That would have put a kink into their combat style. Maybe that was why they were left off originally. But now, surely they can be added in a later DLC.

I though Riekling were Snow Goblins, not Snow Elves?
And I sort of assumed they were native to Solstheim, but not Skyrim.
They would hardly be the first life form found only on specific islands.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Bloodmoon:In_Search_of_the_Falmer

I made an interesting find in the Jolgeirr Barrow - an ancient tome titled "Fall of the Snow Prince." It chronicles the death of a skilled warrior in the Battle of the Moesring. Of particular interest is the description of the Snow Prince. He was no Nord, and definitely no Riekling

So no, probably not the Rieklings. It's anyone's guess really.
