Rieklings or the Nords?

Which group did you choose to live in Thirsk? Also, does anyone know of the advantages for each group? I still haven't decided myself.

For me, vice versa.

Riekling when DB comes for PS3 (if it even does) since Riekling followers > anything the nords can give.

I never even knew you could side with the nords until I went on the forums. Though I had already slaughtered them all. :D
But rieklings can be used as a pet follower and they sometimes spawn randomly in groups of three to help you out.
Hope this helps. :)

Nords don't really reward you and in the end their leader is a jerk.
Next time I'm going with the Rieklings.

And they're classed as pets so you can still have a follower ;)

Thanks, it is hard to make decisions without a wiki full of information. I was leaning towards the Rieklings, so I'm glad it worked out.

Same here for PC.
Rieklings are much cooler than even more random Nords.

I can't stand the breathing sound coming from the Reiklings. They sound like the pet fox my kid brought into the house which I had to slaughter then she wouldn't talk to me for a week.

Nord's get you a new blacksmith, two marriage options, 3 fetch quests, and a refurbished Thirsk.

Rieklings get you a variety of misc quests as well, and Riekling followers.

Oh, and apparently one of the Nords is a master trainer for Heavy Armor.

I did it this way and the "refurbished" Thrisk Hall had Black-Briar Reserve all around the place. If you are a collector like me, then this may be a better option.

I sided with the Nords. I didn't feel that they really deserved to be slaughtered. They just wanted their territory back. The refurbished Thirsk Mead Hall was worth it.

Rieklings! The little things can put up a good fight and you can have a companion besides them.

Rieklings for sure. I had one follow me and we faced three werebears and all of the Draguar in Ahzdial's barrow. That little dude is tough.

The Rieklings say that the Nords are evil and attacked first, while the Nords say that the Rieklings are evil and attacked first. I just prefer to stay out of it so as not to tarnish my moral integrity. Murdering is not my thing, whether it be man or... well you get the picture.

Nords, I like having another smith around, and it's the only place that makes Ashfall Mead.

Oh hey, one more thing. I sided with the Nords btw.

I fast traveled to Thirsk and the place was under attack by Rieklings.
Luckily me and the group wiped them out pretty quickly.

So yeah... not sure if that's a random event that happens, or if it was just a glitch.
Just something to consider, might be fun to encounter.
