I don't know what it is with Riften but it does something really messed up to my game. Like I haven't been this angry since the ending of Lost.

Let me explain. My game works perfectly fine until I head into Riften. To be specific, the problem isn't exactly when I go into Riften, it's what happens when I load my game after that point. Next time I turn on my game after that, the minute I go through any door whether it's from inside to outside or vice versa, the game crashes to my desktop.

Up until that point everything works like a charm. My game literally becomes unplayable after Riften. I've googled this issue and tried a lot of the solutions but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No I've tried it on other ones and I'm having the same problems. I even made a new character and still the same thing:(

Yep. I've tried that too, more than once and the same thing happens. I have windows 7, I don't know if that matters or not. My videocard, ram, processors and pretty much everything else are all better than recommended. I've literally never had any problems whatsoever until I enter Riften.

I'm still trying to understand your particular choice of tags...

Mods? Dxdiag? Some more information would be helpful.

anyway, i have the same issue as you, only that it is in the blue palace since 1.5.26
You mentioned you disabled mods, but when u first entered riften your mods are active right? Do you have a save that does not contain any aspects of riften Hold? Load that save, disable all mods, run a clean save, etc. Then go to riften, go into the inn, and try getting out.

The reason why i got ctd in blue palace is because of 1.5.26 conflicting with certain meshes. When i disabled the mod, i was shocked to see that when i entered the palace, all the meshes are gone. That could be your problem.

Btw, riften is full of bugs.

ok so i dont really know how it happened but i did what you said and it worked! Finally! I started jumping and going crazy like Tom Cruise did that one time on Oprah. Hopefully I don't have anymore issues. Ive had so much bad luck with Riften that I'm not even gonna go there unless I absolutely have to. oh and for those wondering about the chris brown tag...i dont know if he plays skyrim, but we all know he gets really mad so i figured it was an appropriate tag because i was so angry at the game, i was "chris brown angry".
