Road Trip

Post » Thu Dec 01, 2011 3:30 am

So some friends and I are possibly going on a road trip to San Antonio. My friend is graduating boot camp in a couple months and we want to go visit.Rather than fly we thought we would drive and see the country a bit.

We could use some ideas on locations to visit. We've got the Canton Ohio Football Hall of Fame and obviously New Orleans. What would be some good places to stop.We leave form south Jersey so the places would need to be from the south east/central part of the U.S.

I've driven from the East Coast to the West Coast twice. It's something that you will remember. But unfortunately both times were up through the northern states, so I don't really have any suggestions.

I always wanted to go on a long road trip, I may be going on one later this summer, can't really suggest locations. but if it were me I would want to drive through the dessert, just to expereince the long empty dry days and the awesome dessert nights.

I'd say cut through Kentucky/Tennessee instead of Missouri/Arkansas if coming from Ohio and going down to New Orleans.. but I'm biased :)

The plan is to make a circle of sorts, going through the more northern route on our way there then while coming back we go through the south.

Any chance that you'll ever be anywhere near The Grand Canyon? It's worth the look, believe me.

Unfortunately no, we probably won't be going any more west than Texas.

If you are going to be in Ohio, then you really should think about visiting Amish country. http://www.ohioamishcountry.com/

Arlington. For... Obvious reasons. The stadium is amazing. Also you can see where JFK got shot. Downtown Dallas is also a cool place. We went through the art district and then walked around checking out all the buildings. You could go a little further south and check out Corpus Christi. It's a really cool part of Texas on the sand roads and sand bars. I think you can camp out there too which is flippin' awesome.
