So I'm quite sure I heard from someone here on this Forum before that playing with "% Less to Cast" Robes help increase Alteration Skill?
Is this true?
I tested it and I don't see Anything leveling except for the Skill I was using (Restoration only).

If you use Restoration magic, that is the skill that is effected. What you wear has no bearing on that.

How this robe would help you is you can cast more spells in that school for a given amount of Mana, so that would make it easier to level the skill. If you want the Alteration Robe to help your Alteration Skill, then you have to cast Alteration spells while wearing the Alteration Robe.

Because someone has answered your question and rather than spam the board with another robe question, i'll ask it in here.

Is there a black robe hood in the game? I know there's hooded black robes, but I'm looking for a seperate hood.

I do not think it is true. The robe does only what is shown in its description, - decreases amount of mana to cast spells.

You mean a hood that is like a Helm? Wouldn't it blow off your head if there was no robe to attach it to?

I don't think there are any hoods like this. The snooty clothier in Solitude has every clothing article in the game, at least the generic ones. Check and see what she has.

Ok thank you. Man, I'm sure as shlt this one guy said if you wear Less % Cost to Cast Restoration Robe when you use Restoration Spells your Alteration Skill also increase..
