Roleplaying hell...I need a Dragonborn follower!

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 3:48 am

OK, so I'm roleplaying Jordis the Sword-Maiden as a non-Dragonborn PC - here she is in all her glory:

...thanks to TheMagician and his/her NPC sliders http://www.truancyfactory.com/mods/skyrim/skyrim_characters.html

The trouble is, I want to complete the Civil War questline along the way as a Stormcloak so I can get
Spoiler
Gen. Tullius' armour
at the end - "Skyrim belongs to the Nords" after all. As you probably know, I can't do that without talking to Jarl Baalgruf and kickstarting the main quest.

What I need is an NPC follower to take with me when talking to the Jarl so I can pretend that it is in fact them that is the Dragonborn, and not Jordis. The right candidate would need to be a warrior and preferably human.

Jordis will be doing the Companions questline, Thane of the Pale and a fair bit of dungeon diving - any suggestions?

My mage used him...he didn't meet a happy end...

I also thought he was pretty dull - not star material. But thanks anyway

1. Isn't it possible to swich into a NPC by using a console command? By using that method, you could make a dragonborn, buy the house in solitude, get Jordis, and switch to her. I'm not sure if that would work though, I'm an xbox player and don't know much about console commands...

2. I don't think you need to talk to Baalgruf first actually....

I didn't do anything, he died trying to save Winterhold from those things and Arniel Gane raised him without a second thought.

One of the Companions would be a good choice - maybe too obvious! Anyone even more grizzly? Or even charming? They also have to look good in the Dragonborn gear from the trailers.

How about Erik the Slayer? You meet him when he's just plain 'Erik', unhappily toiling away on a farm in Rorikstead and fantasizing about a life of adventure. He feels like he's meant for 'something more'. Sounds Dragonborn-like to me.

You do. There's an exchange between Baalgruf and Ulfric using you as a messenger... something to do with an axe. This always kicks off the Civil War.

Here's a thought, if you're insistent to going Stormcloak, wouldn't it have made more sense to RP as Calder or Iona?

Haha.! I'd forgotten about him. I've only ever heard his story in the inn and never used him before. He'll be perfect for the role...Erik the Dragon-Slayer!

@Alconium The main thing is playing as Jordis and getting the armour from the CW.

He's actually a good follower too. But by gods, he is so cheery.

You could use the call of valour shout to summon a suitable candidate (available once you have finished the main quest)
