Rorikstead

Does anybody else feel like this town was sort of... incomplete? There aren't any real quests in the town, and everybody there talks rather suspiciously about the crops. I know it's apparently "blessed" by the eight divines, but something gave me a bad vibe when I was in that town.

I got the same vibe, that there's something fishy about the farms. Maybe we're just jaded about charming small towns by watching too much TV.

Hm, fishy towns that are blessed are usually on my "steal everything they own" list.

I did not have a vibe before, but I did after. Probably because they were trying to kill me, but I'm sure there is other reasons.

yeah, alot of the towns feel incomplete to me. There's just so few villages in skyrim, and they have so few buildings.

Rorikstead, Karthwasten, Dragon Bridge... why only a tavern? Man, they could have made so much more out of these little towns. There's so much potential!

And Dragon Bridge has a the only Penitus Oculatos Outpost! Soldiers usually bring family, who usually need work and a place to shop. I live in a military town, granted the military stationed here is a bit bigger than just a small outpost LOL, but the town has grown with the base.

But yea, Rorikstead is a strange place LOL

I wandered into Rorikstead today and encountered a frost Dragon and an Ancestor dragon the whole town was wiped out I think one person is alive. no joke. Anyone know if this will affect any of my later quests? and is it common to see two random dragons at a time?

I don't think it's iffy. They just got lucky and got good people to join them.
Rorik and his friend are good people who worked hard to make it fertile. Nothing else.

Winterhold, Rorikstead ... yeah, not much there.

I have Erik the Slayer. He came from Rorikstead. He's been solid so far.

Makes me want to crank up my writing skills again, and come up with some quest-and-addition mods for the villages....

They fined me 40 gold for killing a dragon that attacked their town. It's a strange place. Maybe the dragon was someone's cousin? But the guards were shooting arrows at it. I used Dragonrend on the thing and it did fall on one of the guards. That might have been it. Still you'd think they'd have been at least thankful that whatever his name was is dead (began with a V), unless some guy was on his manhood quest.

That town is dragon bait. Six dragons in five visits, including one named one called up by Alduin hisself. And no one claims to ever have seen anything like it before when I absorb the soul. I think the villagers there are all on skooma.

Doesn't affect later quests, and while it's rare, it's not unheard of. I've even run into three dragons at once along with an entire forsworn camp right outside of the entrance to Skyhaven Temple. That was one absolutely epic battle.

I make skooma in the Dawnstar Sanctuary and sell it in Rorikstead. The Khajiit keep me well supplied with moon sugar. Soon there will be skooma labs popping up all over Imperial held territory.

something is fishy definitely about rorikstead. Also, i dont like Rorik, he seems to be hiding something. Probably there is a huge dwemer HQ underneath that farm..?

I've heard people in other towns mention the "blessed crops" of Rorikstead, but have yet to visit it myself. Heck, I just first visited Markarth yesterday, and still havent been to Flakreath.

I actually love these medium-sized nothing-to-do communities. Gives me a chance to take a break from eradicating Forsworn and Silver-Hand and have a proper mug of Nord mead! "OH THERE ONCE WAS A HERO NAMED RAGNAR THE RED WHO CAME RIDING TO WHITERUN FROM OOOLLEE ROORIKSTEAD..."

I heard one of the little girls chiding another one that she didn't weed the fields at sunset like she was supposed to. At sunset? This is not an agricultural technique I'm familiar with.

Fishy.

Wow, I can imagine. I had one dragon attack them at night, and it was spectacular. The briarhearts use that frost bolt thing and the combined effect was like watching tracer rounds from anti-aircraft batteries!
