Rosetta Stone

Post » Thu Sep 15, 2011 11:45 pm

Hello, long time no see! Anyway I am learning a variety of languages but want to fully become fluent in Hebrew, since I learned to speak it in Hebrew school but never actually understood what anything meant. So I heard of Rosetta Stone and how it can help, but I noticed there are only 3 levels available instead of the usual 5. Why is this? I want to become fully fluent, not stop at only level 3.

Also, I'm debating getting Russian instead because it has all 5 levels and I'm interested in this language.

Help would be greatly appreciated. I am also half way to fluency in Spanish and am wondering if I should get the Spanish Rosetta Stone to finish my learning.

So to cut it down: Finish Spanish or learn more Hebrew?

I can't help you much I'm afraid, but you will never be completely fluent using Rosetta Stone alone. You'll have to talk to lots of native speakers regularly for that, possibly live in Israel for a while.

If I were you I'd definitely go for Spanish, at least it has some more practical use outside of bible class. And it doesn't sound quite as hideous.

Hmm, that's really a matter of opinion.

spanish. hebrew is has extremely limited use, unless of course you plan on hanging around israel for a bit. they have stuff now where you just speak into it and it translates everything into another language anyways so learning multiple languages for anything other than fun is soon going to be a thing of the past.

Does Rosetta Stone actually help people like it says it does? I have been thinking about saving up for it, the Spanish edition, but it's $600.

I don't know, I think it really depends on where you live, and what life you lead. I certainly have no use for Spanish, but some use for Hebrew.

Of course, but my opinion matters more than that of other people! ;)
