Runes, Walls, Cloaks, and dual casting

Simply put: Does dual-casting runes, walls, and cloak spells work to create a more powerful version of those spells?

Just wondering if I can get a little more oomph out of my runes especially.



And a side question:

The Frost Rune and Lightning Rune spell descriptions don't mention anything about those spells affecting the target's stamina or magicka, respectively. Do those two simply do straight-up health damage, or do they also have the normal effects of slow/stam. drain and magicka drain for frost & shock spells?

I'm sure the general rule is 2.2x damage/duration with 2.8x spell cost of a single handed version of spells being dual cast.
Also sure this goes for pretty much every spell in the game, can't find any exceptions really.
Seeing nobody or nothing mentions runes not being part of this I would naturally take they follow the same rule.


personally I suggest not getting dual casting for restoration, it can be bad since it decreases the MP to HP conversion efficiency of most heals.

Can't find if frost/lightning runes don't do magica/stamina damage as quickly, might need to experiment.

Wrong.

Look under the active effects while you have a cloak on. It still says 8 points of damage (and for 60 or 58 seconds, if you pause immediately) whether you've dual casted or not. And even if the text is wrong and the spell is in fact 2.2 times as powerful from the dual cast, it still lasts just a minute.

After experimentation, your answer seems to be no, OP.
