Running4Cover's List of Stealth Mods - 2nd Thread
(The first thread can be found http://www.gamesas.com/?showtopic=872035&hl)

A second thread?! Now doesn't that just give you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside?
*cough*
Welcome to my humble contribution to the gamesas Community! When I launched this my aim was to create a resource which could be used by any new players who wished to improve the Stealth aspect of their Oblivion install, and that hasn't changed. My goal is to catalog every every mod which falls into this category, and have players use this space to discuss those mods. Every time I see someone link to this list, or post a thank you comment on this thread I feel I have succeeded in my goal, and I sincerely hope you all find this useful! Best of luck to everyone who is reading this!

>>>R4C

This list is composed of mods created and used by YOU. If you have used or created any mod which you feel belongs here but is not listed below, please post it on this thread!

The list is divided into the following categories:
The Big Two, Armour & Weapons, Quests & Factions, Vampirism Overhauls, Houses & Headquarters, Tweaks, Miscellaneous, and Overhauls & Other Mods For Stealth Players.

Every mod's entry will start with a "+" that will be colored like so:
~ Green means I have tried it and it works well.
~ Red means I have tried it and it acted buggy in some way (possibly conflicts, not bugs, so don't avoid a mod just because I shade it red).
~ Yellow means I have not tried or tested it conclusively.
~ Brown means I have received bug reports, but not verified them myself.
~ Blue means the mod has been pulled from the linked website, but I have left the entry in tact in hopes of it being reposted.

These symbols after the name indicate requirements:
OBSE means you need Oblivion Script Extender
WRYE means it requires Wrye Bash
UOP means you need the Unofficial Oblivion Patch
SI means you must have The Shivering Isles installed
DB means you must be in the Dark Brotherhood
TG means you must be in the Thieves' Guild
{V} means you must be a Vampire
!!! means I made it myself (I'm sorry, I couldn't resist)

The Big Two
(Stealth mods too big to be stuck into the other categories)

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=1764 OBSE
Originally the reason I started using OBSE, this mod enhances all aspects of stealth gameplay, most specifically Sneak Attacks and Sneaking. I highly recommend.
(note: if you are looking for an alternative to this mod, check out SDR under the Tweaks section!)

Completely Overhauls the guards in oblivion, making them smarter, yet less omnitient at the same time

Armour & Weapons
(Mods that add new gear for your Stealth Character)

A beautiful suit of classical Ninja armor

This plugin adds a completely new armor and weapons sets made from scratch plus several retextures into the game. Every suit has it's own stats and features

Rebalences AlexScorpion's Sneaking Gear to be less powerful and makes unenchanted version available.

Adds two Ranger Coats to The Best Defence in the Imperial City Market District

Adds a huge amount of high-quality retextured armors to the game, and some great undocumented quests for with them (one specifically involving stealth comes to mind as particular rewarding and appropriate for this thread)

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22290 !!!
Adds new weapons and armors (and masks!) with a red and black color scheme, intended for Assassins

This mod adds another reward for being in the dark brotherhood; a new enchanted sword that can be either a two-handed sword, one-handed sword, or a knife, along with an off-hand knife.

This Mod adds alot of stuff out of Assassins Creed like weapons and clothing which Altair is wearing. It also adds Altair as a playable race

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14724 OBSE UOP
It's sort of unfair to list this as just an armor and weapons mod, but that's primarily what it is. This is what the description says:
(note: This is not SPECIFICALLY intended for thief characters)
This mod features an unique combat system, a shop, 13 new NPCs, a quest with involving a large fort and offers help during the Oblivion Crisis. The mod is intended for high level players who have more money than a horse has hair and nothing to spend it on. It includes clothes, rings, amulets, armor, weapons, arrows, staves, spells, scrolls and poisons designed to work together.

A "recreation of a bow from the online game Lineage 2" by Nicoroshi.

A little bit out of place in Oblivion, but this adds a cool new thief outfit for girls (with variants)

This mod adds eight daggers. These daggers can be bought at Morvayn's Peacemakers, Anvil. To avoid unbalancing game, none are better than a daedric dagger.

This plug-in adds a dragonshaped dagger to Colovian Traders, Skingrad, where you can buy. It is not a godlike weapon (it's a bit better than an Ebony Dagger).

The armor is expensive because of the enchantments it provides. It is available at The Best Defense from the heavy armor seller, even though it is light armor.

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14723 OBSE
Adds, you guessed it, crossbows to Cyrodiil. Perfect for a rogue with high strength or simply not "gifted" in terms of marksmanship otherwise.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9126 DB
(note: incompatable with Dark Brotherhood Lethal Sleeping Potion and Harvest [Flora])
Adds a new set of Dark Brotherhood Armor to the Cheydinhal Sanctuary

This mod adds 3 new ninja masks in the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary training room (in the chest).

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6726 TG DB
Adds a new set of armor and weapons that can only be obtained by completing the Thieves' Guild (armor) and the Dark Brotherhood (weapons).

This mod brings a set of custom light armor and various weapons to Oblivion

This mod adds three custom daggers to Oblivion. "The blades are patter welded for strength and durability, and be warned, they are razor sharp and hold their edge like no other."

Adds a shop selling lots of archer-related items. I recently stopped using because it seemed a little over-powerful, but it is fine quality

Makes Golden Arrow Archer's Shop compatable with Unique Landscapes: Rolling Hills

I don't know how to pronounce it either, but this is my ALL TIME FAVORITE armor (especially if you mix the Black armor with the crimson boots, gauntlets, and mask!).

This mod adds a new glass weapon to the game (a crude glass knife).

Adds a black ninja outfit to the game: hood, mask, shirt, and pants. NOTE: This is clothing, NOT armor

This mod adds three bows to the game in different locations all guarded by really tough skeleton archers (Player level+20, and Player HP+200) who are wielding (and protecting) the bows in the name of Kynareth. All three bow, and arrows sets use the same models but have different textures, and enchantments.

Includes pretty much all of Nicoroshi's Bows except Kynareth Archery.

Adds a new set of armour by Skeleton K for Exnem's/Robert's.

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=492 TG
(note: something like this is included in Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul)
Adds a set of leather armor that matches the Cowl of Nocturnal(aka the Gray Fox's mask) to the game. The items are located in a chest at the foot of the bed in the Guildmaster's Quarter of Dareloth's House. This means you will need to have completed the Thieves Guild questline and be named the Guildmaster

Retextures of the Hashshashin Armor. I don't like them quite as much, but they are #12 on the PlanetElderScrolls.com top Oblivion Mods list. The Ranger armor is great for the aforementioned class

A collection of altered and retextured stock meshes from Oblivion. Ranger's Shroud Armor is fashioned from mithril chain bound in leather, and has stats that lie somewhere between elven and glass armor.

The Bosmer module features an assortment of sabers, bows and arrows that can be wielded by any race, but the Bosmers get a bonus!

The Khajiit module features an assortment of sabers and short blades that can be wielded by any race!

There are Realswords Mods for almost every race. Khajiit and Bosmer are the most stealth-oriented mods, but the others can all be used too.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20468 !!!
A mod I made myself, this adds six retextured suits of armor to Oblivion (four of which are Light Armors)

Adds two new suits of armor with vampire themes to a chest in Lipsand Tarn

This plug-in is a retexture of several various pieces of armor and three brand new weapons! The armor sets are set up as light armor.

Looks really cool, but the textures didn't work right for me (I'll try again sometime).

Adds 10 new weapons to the game with 16 variations thus making the total weapon count to 26. You can buy the stuff from Imperial City, Market District, A Fighting Chance.

Adds 6+9 new weapons to the game. You can buy the stuff from Imperial City, Market District, A Fighting Chance.

Adds a new set of armor.

While technically clothing, I believe this outfit is very fitting for a Personality-style rogue.

Adds new stealth armor to the game, guarded by a fiersome beastie (to quote everyone's favorit pirate)

Adds Tool Belts based off belts by Cethagus. Belt and Pack occupy amulet and tail slots.

+Twilight Assassin
http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=5023

Adds two armours to the game that "grant you 15-75% Chameleon based on your Sneak skill, but only when you are sneaking."

This adds a chest belt that has several decorative daggers attached to it. There are several versions to it that have different details and addons. Occupy the amulet slot.

This mod adds many wooden bows and leather armors (go figure) to the game.

Adds a new light ranger armor (male and female) into the game. You can find it at the bottom of the warrior statue in the IC Market District.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25742 DB
Adds five new multi-stage quests to the end of the Dark Brotherhood storyline, in which you are not only the Listener, but also the Silencer and the Speaker

+http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=873715 DB
Makes it so the Dark Brotherhood will never stop giving you quests... EVER! The only link I have is for the WiP thread, but even the beta versions are great! Seriously, if you are the Dark Brotherhood Listener, you want to check this out!

A huge mod, that could perhaps be considered an overhaul, this adds a ninja class, ninja skills, ninja weapons/armors, and ninja quests!

Starting from Luther Broad's Boarding House in the IC, you'll find a note left by a stranger which asks you to kill a specific person. Should you decide to go through with the request, you'll be handsomely rewarded, and presented another victim. The assassinations get harder, and the rewards for success are great. But beware, for if you are spotted killing an innocent by the officers of the law, they will show you no mercy!

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22197 TG
This mod is designed to augment the Thieves’ Guild in Oblivion (or simply give more depth to the game) by adding new hidden communities of thieves, with new areas, stores, items, and quests.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16417 {V}
The player can join the Vampires of House Serentin or join the Vampire Hunters Guild. It also adds tons of new items, spells, a new deadsequence, new eyes and makes vampires more beautiful in general. Most of the vampire dungeons have received an overhaul to make them look like vampire lairs instead of average dungeons.

Adds some great thief quests, in fact I think it's my all-time favorite quest add-on

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=2693 OBSE
This mod not only adds some interesting quests, but also some VERY fun tools for a thief (shoot a Gas Arrow into the Anvil Castle Barracks full of guards, and you'll know what I mean :-)

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=5260 OBSE
As the name implies, this is a version of Thieves' Arsenal that does not conflict with Darker Dungeons and Real Lights

Adds the Woodland Rangers to Tamriel. They are a Faction dedicated to enforcing the wilderness and explore the deep depths of Tamriel. This includes 2 new armors, new sword, and unique creatures to the game. The Rangers have their own Questline and are a joinable faction. You will protect Tamriel's forest and it's citizens from many different threats that somehow connect with each other. There are 7 Quests total right now more will come.

An updated build of Woodland Rangers by Shadowfen.

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=2000 {V}
A part of M.O.E., it is a decent questline, that is good for a vampire, therefor appeals partially to stealth by default

Vampirism Overhauls
(Mods that rebuild the Vampirism structure from Vanilla Oblivion)

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28341 {V}
Makes Vampirism entirely about feeding.

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=3302 {V}
Vampirism Overhaul is a mod that drastically changes the way vampirism evolves over time, not only adding many skills and abilities that makes Vampirism relevant, but also adding 7 diferent stages you will go through the game.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27329 {V}
This plugin aims to make vampirism a lot more interesting by redesigning its implementation almost from the ground up. The plugin is highly modular, allowing users to fine-tune it to their own preferences through an in-game menu.

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=676 {V}
This is a lite description for folks who want to discover things on their own. A precise description of all the features will follow at the end; Time Based Advancement (older = stronger), Traditional Vampire Powers, Blood Cravings, Unlockable Vampire Powers, Appearance/NPC Reaction changes based on fed status, and Resist Sunlight under appropriate circumstances.

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=1561 {V}
This mod aims to make playing as a vampire much more enjoyable and so is a complete overhaul of the vampire race. It fixes a few weird oblivion choices – such as feeding making you weaker.

Houses & Headquarters
(Mods adding new player homes and guild halls)

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=3234 DB
You recieve the key to this assassin-based house when you join the Dark Brotherhood

I know nothing about this but what you see in the link. Sounds intriguing, though...

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=8705 DB
Adds a Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary to the sewers in the Imperial City.

If you are searching for the nice and bright house for you noble and shiny knight... well, turn away and never comeback. This is a murky place. The place long forgotten. Purely for sleeping and storage.

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13439 SI
Adds a sewer "House" to the Imperial City.

Adds a "Mansion" to the Imperial City sewers.

This Plugin adds a tiny hideout in Anvilbay under a lampost

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=4562 TG
On the road just west of Bravil, you'll find a small shop called "Big Tony's Deli", which is a front for the Thieves’ Guild. There is a trap door behind some barrels in the back room, which leads to the hideout. The place is a reasonable size and contains lots of stuff for thieves.

Adds a hideout under the Cheydinhal Castle Dungeons

Tweaks
(Mods that alter stealth gameplay mechanics)

This mod makes it so the NPCs and creatures will 'search' for you after an attack or when you are spotted in line of sight or sound. Basically now, you have a chance to attack (stealth or regular), and then run away and hide.

Makes lockpicking more difficult in multiple ways

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9445 OBSE

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=4784 !!!
Makes it possible for non-mages to access the Arcane University through a secret entrance

What the player wears may affect the Disposition of NPCs they interact with. Some apparel are illegal and will draw the attention of guards. Wearing guard armour is a disguise.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13533 OBSE
Sneaky Feet fortifies your sneak skill and other abilities based on your footwear or lack thereof. But be careful- you'll be very quiet walking around barefoot but you might get hurt or even catch a disease.

The player can remove Bounties for crimes by either killing the witnesses or coercing (Disposition 100) the witnesses to not report the crime.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25071 DB
Wearing any Dark Brotherhood apparel now disguises you, just like Nocturnal's Cowl

Enhances sneaking in multiple ways (an alternative to Stealth Overhaul).

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15777 OBSE
This mod makes your targetting reticle less steady, based on your Health and Fatigue.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18065 OBSE
Look at the name. Ah, you got it.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16150 OBSE
If a projectile misses an enemy/NPC, the target will realize you attacked it, and attack you back

Gives merchant NPCs a chance to buy stolen goods from you, based on their disposition towards you and your personality.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25462 OBSE
Alters the distance sound travels based on time, location, and weather, affecting who witnesses your dastardly deeds (done dirt cheap 0.o)

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3049 TG
(note: included in Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul)
Instead of Thieves' Guild fences having 50 - 1000 gold, they now have 500 - 5000 gold (made especially for use with OOO)

Looting armour and weapons from a dead guard is stealing, and wearing guard armour in cities the guard armour originates from will make the guards in those cities suspicious of the player.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25533 OBSE
Makes your arrows less accurate with a lower marksman skill.

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=31424 OBSE
This mod gets rid of the lockpicking minigame and introduces Morrowind's realtime lockpicking system to Oblivion. It also features lockpicks of different quality, each with a unique texture.

Tweaks the guards so they don't know everything all the time

Adds penalties to your sneak skill whenever you get close to NPCs and creatures

This mod "gives you every reason ( and then some ) to use that underrated Grab key", adding some depth to thieving and such

Makes lighting in the game more realistic, based on light sources

The goal of this is to make merchant storage more realistic. Merchants already have storage boxes placed out of the map, so I'm just bringing them up to the store, and making them unlockable via the merchants key, and many are pickable.

Places all Merchant Chests in game which gives access to them so that they may be looted. Each chest is locked by key only, namely the key of the store, which is on the store owner.

Makes merchants' chests lootable. Contains some bugs.

Allows NPCs to "sneak and perform sneak attacks" on the player character.

Restricted City Entrance is a mod that keeps a tab of your infamy, fame and maximum bounty and uses that to stop you from entering cities when you become to infamous. At every town and castle gate you will find a Gate Guard that makes sure anyone wanting to pass is not a recognized criminal. If you end up having a higher reputation for crime than the city allows, you are expelled until you are able to change the publics opinion of you.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37385 OBSE
Completely rewrites the Oblivion system for stealth detection to include all items worn, lighting on both the player and the NPCs, and a number of other factors. Also adds a number of skill-based bonuses (sneak speed, sneak attack bonuses, etc). An alternative to Stealth Overhaul.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=15413 TG
Because the vanilla way you get invited into the Thieves’ Guild seems very lame--why would they want to recruit someone who gets caught? This mod changes that so you get the invitation when your sneak and security skills are apprentice level (25+), and after you've picked at least 30 locks.
(note: also includes two other versions of this based on locks opened and items pickpocketed)

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20303 OBSE
This mod allows to more effectively hide from npcs you are in combat with. If you stay out of visible sight from them long enough the npc will not be sure where you have gone and lose track of you. No more do npc's have homing beacons on your position.

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16137 OBSE
A sort of alternative to Reneer's Guard Overhaul, this mod provides regional bounties, no-psychic guards, guard knockouts and the option for diminishing bounties as well. Can be implemented into RGO for a best-of-both-worlds scenario.

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16136 OBSE
Forces you to "pay" a number of lockpicks to access a lock based on your security skill. Also implements a power-attack based lock bashing system.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=17011 OBSE
This simple mod has one purpose. When you score a ranged critical and the sneak eye is dark, your Sneak skill increases slightly. It's a way for ranged theives/snipers/assassins to raise their Sneak skill without having to get so close to their targets.

A slightly tweaked version of Jog's Stealth Overhaul which allows for the alteration of mod settings without running the full setup codeblock.

A rebuild of Jog's Stealth Overhaul that "strips away the fluff" (removes stuff like equipment hotkeys and such)

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28292 OBSE
This mod makes Absorb and Drain Attribute and Skill spells non-hostile if your skill in the corresponding school AND your sneak skill are both higher than the casting cost of the spell.

Makes arrows travel at bullet-like speeds, and increases jump height

Adds advantages and salaries to the Thieves' Guild based on rank

This mod features an alternative to the lockpicking minigame, complete with three equipable lockpicks, a brand new lockpicking algorithm, an experience system, and criminal charges if you're seen!

Miscellaneous
(Stealth mods that don’t fit into any other categories)

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19406 {V} OBSE
A great mod that Aridale made on request (thank you!), it allows you to not experience the ill-effects of vampiric sun damage while a certain amulet is worn (useful for, say, modtesting when your main is a vamp)

Combines archery and magic into one, by allowing mages to summon magical arrows, but still use their marksman skill to shoot them.

This MOD adds a number of ancient and foreign items to the region of Cyrodiil to provide many new ways to enjoy dragging your heels through Oblivion, especially if you love to throw stuff! This isn't just a stealth mod, but it looks like it will add a bit to stealth gameplay.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=16882 DB
Search for the hidden entrance to the secret chamber where the tripwires have lain hidden for years. Only members of the Dark Brotherhood may enter.

Changes the Grey Fox's outfit, cowl, and wanted posters.

This mod adds 4 treasuries to Castles and Churches throughout the game, and adds several new gameplay conditions.

+http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=4863 !!!
Another of my personal contributions to the Oblivion Modding Community, this adds keys to a dozen or so citizens of the Imperial City. These keys open chests in a new vault-like area in the Prison District.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25774 DB
Repopulates the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary with ghostly visages of previous members

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=5646 DB
This adds a poison that automatically kills any sleeping enemy (as far as I'm concerned, attacking any enemy in their sleep should be an instant kill, so this is definately a step in the right direction)

Makes all dungeons significantly darker.

Evil NPC actors in dungeons get a one-time 75% chance to recieve torches. This occurs on entry of interior cells. Includes Bandits, Conjurers, Marauders, Black Bow Bandits, and Necromancers. Excludes Vampires, Dremoras, Undead, Ghost NPCs, forgotten ones and Khajiits.

Adds an NPC who will enchant items/make spells for non-mages - for a price. It's not specifically for stealth characters, but it does help.

Actors outside get a one-time 60% chance to recieve torches at night from 8:30pm - 4:30am. Includes actors from other mods. Excludes Vampires, Dremoras, Undead, Ghost NPCs, Moth Priests, beggars and Khajiits.

Makes it possible to put out lights in Oblivion (a possible alternative to Thieves' Arsenal)

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25218 OBSE
This mod "applies visual effects to magical and poisoned arrows"

While not being specifically for stealth characters, this mod does add some nice special powers for Stealth Characters to use (although they do generally recquire Magicka).

Adds Havok'd ladders to the game (included in Window Entrances)

Makes all dungeons in the game darker by removing the universal ambient lighting and fog. You will need torch/light spell/night-eye to see well in dungeons.

Adds the effects of Let There Be Darkness to popular mod-added dungeons (such as The Lost Spires).

Allows you to craft metal items into lockpicks

A great mod (which I would love to see expanded), this adds access to the rooftops of the imperial city, and allows you to enter some building through hidden roof entrances. Very fun.

Adds values between 10 and 1000 gold to every key in the (vanilla) game.

Contains a series of tweaks, quests, and miscellaneous other mods, some of which complement a stealth-type character.

Adds 32 variants of the Poison Apple (i.e. graqes, beef, pie, etc) for sale from Shady Sam, a brotherhood member in the Cheydinhal Sanctuary, and placed for free in Fort Farriagut.

I don't have a whole lot of info on this, but check out http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=842386(specifically pages 7 and 8) (thank you so much for the link, PintoCat!)

Makes night significantly darker, while maintaining the original color scheme

There is a chance now that you may find a magic weapon or armor, a large amount of gold or (magic) jewelry in any middle or upper class house, as well as castles.

This mod adds several Poisons designed to make the usage of Poisons in Oblivion a much more fun and detailed utility.

(note: included in Reneer's Guard Overhaul)
This mod creates disguises that the player can change into at will. Each disguise has its own crime gold, fame, and infamy stats attached to it. If you switch disguises, you won't have the bounty / fame / infamy that was on the disguise until you switch back to it.

(note: Thieves' Arsenal includes something *like* this)
This mod creates a new arrow type called 'Knock Out Arrow.' It does exactly what it says: it knocks out NPCs. The arrows didn't appear where they were supposed to for me, but that is probably an incompatability, not a bug.

This mod adds four items (crowns) to be stolen from the Imperial Palace in the Elder Council Chambers.

Adds an archery range linked to the waterfront where you can practise your marksmanship on respawning/essential dremora archers (also a vendor who sells every vanilla bow)

An alternative Stealth Entrances mod (for five cities)

Adds secret entrances to all cities

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36493 OBSE
Adds a total of 15 assassins (with unique goodies) to the game, who will do everything in their power to stealthily kill you.

Adds a lot of changes to playing as a Ranger, including Animal Companions, Ranger Powers, and enhanced Archery

Changes the merchant at Things Found (in Shivering Isles) to buy stolen items

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=23526 OBSE
Gives you the ability to disguise yourself as an Imperial Legionaire when being pursued by guards

Makes most windows in the citys useable as an entrance/exit into houses.

Adds enchanted traps that you can place, and are set off when an NPC steps on them.

Adds tresure vaults that you can rob to all of the castles in Oblivion. I experienced some conflicts or bugs (not sure which), but I know a lot of people who really like this, and it is really fun (note: Some rewards are overpowered, and if you use Thieves' arsenal they can be obtained relatively easily)

Overhauls & Other Mods For Stealth Players
(Mods that I find invaluable to a Stealth game, yet don’t quite qualify as Stealth Mods)

Adds a bank in which to store items and gold, and, if you're a thief (the whole point of this thread :-P), you can rob it. Rewards for robbing it aren't amazing, but it is fun/difficult.

Adds multiple endings to quests and more evil choices, amongst other things…

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=25224 OBSE
Allows any character to cast any spell on their weapon, enchanting the weapon and draining Magicka instead of "Charge" … Finally gives us sneaky-people a use for those 40 magic points we’re stuck with anyway :P

Adds generic-named citizens to all of the cities in the game.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4805
+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20575
+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13264
All of these mods add a number of generic and/or named characters to the roads of Tamriel, making encounters with both civilians and enemy NPC’s more common.

+http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36399 OBSE
A compilation of mods, including a "heavy modification of Reneer's NPC Sneak Mod" as well as a new type of item (maps) to, er, "acquire" from NPC's, and a weight penalty to swimming which falls very much in line with the pack-light-and-take-only-what-you-can-carry rogue mindset.

Mixes items from it’s many supported mods into many, many leveled lists.

Not at all oriented towards Stealth, Magic, or Fighter, but it adds greater risk/greater gain to playing as a thief (specifically pointed out to me were more trapped chests)

This is a travelling merchants mod will full compatabilty with the Shivering Isles and FCOM (and all of it's sub-mods).

(note: incompatable with OOO/FCOM)
TIE adds guards to to various indoor locations (stores and wealthy homeowners), secret entrances into cities, various new tools for thieves, and weight to lockpicks and torches. It also adds new travelling NPCs and merchants to the roads and cities.

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18138 WRYE
An OOO/FCOM compatable version of Tamriel Immersion Experience

+http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18071 WRYE
Another OOO/FCOM compatable version of Tamriel Immersion Experience that works by toning down a few enhancements and making the world more static

[i]...well now, that was a read-and-a-half, wasn't it? I would like to stress again; if you have used or made any mod you feel would be appropriate for this list, please post a link! I am always happy to add new mods to the list. If this thread goes more than a week without any posts I will bump it, as I feel it is a useful contribution to the community. Thanks to all mod-makers, mod-users, and posters for your support!

Thanks very much Petrus for the imput! these are kind of mods/Quests I like; mods that get naturally integrated in any gameplay and replayable.
After some years of TES IV play I could say that Stealth characters is my prefered class, it's like me in real life.

Want more to see mods like this.

You mean it would seem to imply he's actually a ninja who could be hiding under one of our beds right now waiting to kill us with his magical ninja-powers? :ninja: Yep, disturbing. *cough*

Side note; I'm hoping to add a Work in Progress section to this, for such mods as Lonewolf_Kai's Stealth Wars mod, MadMole's Unholy Darkness, and CDM's The Vampire Experience. Any opinions from anyone on this?

Might be a good idea. At first I was like no, because what if it never gets done. Then I thought, yeah, what if it didn't get done and someone wants to pick it up and finish it themselves? That way they can try to contact the author by finding them in the link.

Oh okay Ayleid. You had me worried that maybe someone was sneaking around here like Running said. :hubbahubba:

Ah, breaking into the Imperial Palace, that reminds me of http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7902, from which only Vampire Clan Raelu made it on the list.
There are, however, several stealthy mods in it: "Realistic Law Enforcement" Part 1 and 2, "Realistic Prices, Realistic Weights, No Quest Items", Lock spells and of course "Tools of Kragenac - The Secret of White Gold Tower" (in which you break into the Imperial Palace).
"The Black Sacrament - Night Mother's Ritual" might be considered a stealth mod as well, after all it allows you to hire murderers to kill certain well-known NPCs.

By the way, just finished Thievery in the Imperial City. Holy crap, that mod was awesome. How the plot slowly crept up on you until there was no way back... just great. I desparately want to make a sequel to it right now, but without a team that won't work :( (And a really good writer would be essential. After all, the cliffhanger sounds promising as hell, one mustn't screw something like that up.)

Wow, I totally scrolled past your post before and didn't notice :P Thanks for the link. And you really should make a point of playing that as soon as you can; it's a good one (although the convenience of a fence who is automatically available right in the IC is a little cheap. No posts for the last week

I've decided that I will bump this thread with some frequency, as the whole purpose of the list is to be seen. I'm amazed that I'm not receiving more submissions, as I take that to mean this list must be more thorough than I realized (thanks to all past contribution and contributors). Anyway, as always, if you think anything should be added to this list, or wish to discuss current stealth mods or what should be made, feel free to post here ;D

What's this stealth quest included with Armamentarium? I've been playing with it for months and haven't found found any quest involving armamentarium, marked or not.

I believe it's included just with Armamentarium Complete (may have been from Artifacts; I never play without both :P).

Anyway, it is that
Spoiler
in A Fighting Chance, where the Arma NPC is who offers to make copies of rare armours, there's a counter with a note on it addressed from Heironimous Lex concerning a rare suit of memorial armour he found, and the location of sad armour in the Prison District offices iirc. From there it's a few very hard locks and guards until you get a valuable unique set of heavy armour. If you must know it's
Spoiler
a Gold Palace Guard suit
. Not necessarily useful to a thief, but pricey and nice to display.

Again, I don't know for sure if it was from Arma Artifacts or Arma Complete, but it's a fun little side-quest -thing.

This is a great thread thanks for making it!

I'm very new to modding and was wondering which couple of these mods I should start with first then move on from there? I hear TIE is a great overhaul and trying using thieves arsenal.

TIE is indeed a wonderful starting point, especially as you are new to mods and won't be running FCOM for a while. I would always use Stealth Overhaul as well. If you have a good processor, I would add Reneer's Guard Overhaul as well, but it does run a lot of scripts, and may slow your game down (that said, all of these mods are easy to install and use). Others you might consider are:

Tamriel Travellers
Snipesneakskillup
Bank of Cyrodiil
Vaults of Cyrodiil
and if you're interested in a quest mod Thievery in the Imperial City.

As far as houses and armour mods go, they're all about equal in terms of ease-to-install and use, so just pick what intrigues you :P

These are all easy to install (if you're running Thieves' Arsenal you of course already have OBSE, so you shouldn't have to worry about that). Vaults of Cyrodiil and Reneer's Guard Overhaul are both known to have some crashes when used with other mods, but the newest Reneer's is almost perfectly clean, and I've been running vaults for my last through saves, and haven't had it to blam for any crashes. All the others should be totally clean unless you use better/op cities, in which case you may need a patch for Bank of Cyrodiil and Thievery in the IC.

I hope this helps, and thanks for your kind words ;)

TIE is indeed a wonderful starting point, especially as you are new to mods and won't be running FCOM for a while. I would always use Stealth Overhaul as well. If you have a good processor, I would add Reneer's Guard Overhaul as well, but it does run a lot of scripts, and may slow your game down (that said, all of these mods are easy to install and use). Others you might consider are:

Tamriel Travellers
Snipesneakskillup
Bank of Cyrodiil
Vaults of Cyrodiil
and if you're interested in a quest mod Thievery in the Imperial City.

Cool I'll start there, I got TCOM's mod compilation but I think I may have been a bit over my head :).
