Once I saved a spriggan held in a cage from some hags. She remained neutral, exited the cave and walked all th way to some place near riften. Oddly enough she even battled animals. It has to do with the 'faction' setting. Each creature or npc belongs to a faction and there is a global matrix that dictate how actors belonging to a specific faction react to actors of other factions.
Out of all the creatures I made into pets, it was the most realistic. It'd actually stop and lye down when I stopped and it looked pretty awesome too. I had spiders, skeletons, Wisp mothers and Dwarven Spheres too. I tried to get one of those Magical Anomalies but the AI just didn't work, it wouldn't follow.
Have you tried it on a bear or a troll? I'm sure one of those would be a nice pet.

Doesn't work on trolls for some reason, the AI just goes stupid. They squat down and refuse to move after you use the console commands, bears are nice but they're so big that they often times block entire passages when you're dungeon diving.

Once I casted a frost atronach and it couldn't pass the door.. Got stuck Do you have problems with your spiders? I mean, do you have to slash your way through cobwebs before entering home?
