Sadly, not my 2011 game of the year. :(

Post » Tue Jun 05, 2012 6:26 am

So as I said before, Skyrim isn't going to meet my games collection this year, but maybe next year it will in form of a GOTY edition.
I will explain why: i own a laptop and a PS3. Guess what, my laptop runs all the games but slowly as frickin' hell! [deleted]
They made the PS3 version awful, with that lag thing you know. It was my last hope to play Skyrim.

Why is Bethesda so mean? They have got every single award they could have possibly get in all these years and now I ask you: isn't that enough?

I know and that's why I said "NOT MY 2011 GAME OF THE YEAR!"
That just pisses me off sooooo much! (the fact that i can't play it this year, of course)

P.S. - Go to Lens of Truth and see the comparison between the 360 and the PS3 versions. :banghead:

Don own a ps3 myself but theres no excuse, they can work on it forever but it will never be fixed. They released a crap broke fallout3 on the ps3 and now a crap broke skyrim on ps3. Plenty of companies release functioning games on that system, beth really needs to get rid of this ancient engine they use.

The only reason i open a thread like this is to see what a fellow rpg-lover would put as their goty instead, yet you fail to even mention that..

I play Skyrim on the PS3. It runs smooth and no lag so it's definitely my game of the year.

Same here... I've played Witcher and enjoyed but the last city is awful. And anyway you can't go back to enjoy let's say, that magnific dwarven city if you want... I haven't played Batman or Zelda tho...

yeah when people where talking about lag and crashes I was like it can't be worse than fallout 3 well there are less crashes but the lag is so much worse honestly it's pretty ridiculous as a consumer I expect a full functioning product yet I get one that's riddled with bugs and isn't even playable half the time

Dude, post your complaints on the gazillion of threads already addressing them. We do not need the board filled with thread after thread of individual whiners.

I have Skyrim on PS3 and it has been running fine since release, if not counting a few laggy situations. Just bad luck for you, if you even bothered to try it on your console and didn't just read everything from IGN.

What a waste of a topic this is. Complaining about it not being your GOTY is ok, but making your own thread for it?

I dont get why people are attacking the ones who complain about the PS3 version. They have the right to complain about it.
Im a X360 so I dont encounter these problems, but I feel for you guys, PS3 "cousins". Good luck.

Skyrim IS my GOTY

I agree though. I'm local. I'll go to their office and demand to know why they allowed this game to be released when you own a non gaming laptop or one ill spec'd for this generation of games. Also on the meetings agenda will be how they can sleep at night knowing they let Sony produce a console 6 years ago that was sub-par compared to Microsofts coming entry and PCs. They should have said back then NO WAY, not going to let you put this out! It won't play games the way AssassinVenice will want half a decade from now!

I think I speak for everybody, when I say:

"Skyrim is the worst game ever!"
"Skyrim is the best game ever!"
"Skyrim is meh"
"Skyrim is ok"
"Skyrim is that a new band?"

As a fellow PS3 player that had to suffer Fallout 3 and Skyrim on PS3, If this happened to any xbox players or PC players they would cry. We had 50 million threads on DX11 and the UI and we didn't complain and they didn't even fix performance at least you can play it. TBH I'm seeing a lot of immaturity on this board especially from the so called ''positive fans''. If someone has a problem they can express it, just don't post in the thread.

PC gamers who have been around long enough really should understand that too. The problem has gone both ways for decades: lots of console games have been unplayable on PC and lots of PC games have been unplayable on consoles. Somehow this never stopped them from getting made.

Yeah, as a PC gamer I tend to think of the PS3 as a bit of a joke most of the time, but if Bethesda wanted to release Skyrim for PS3 it should at least work most of the time. They do have a problem with retaining old bugs in their engines and not fixing them for years; it applies to all platforms. Sadly, the issues on PS3 are often deal breakers for the players it seems (not usually the players' faults).

@AssassinVenice; Your position makes sense. If you're not interested in trying to navigate the potential pitfalls of playing on the PS3 then put it off. Maybe you'll have more fun. Personally, I still think TES games play better on PC and would wait until I had a PC capable of it if I was in your position.

When I came to this thread I expected you to say you had another game in mind. Skyrim may be the game I've spent the most time with this year, but I do have to say that Portal 2 was awesome, and I'd be voting for it if Skyrim hadn't come out. This has more to do with me being an Elder Scrolls junkie than anything else.
