Safe Storage in Ragged Flagon?

Post » Fri Jun 01, 2012 3:19 am

I recently rerolled and I was wondering if the chests in the Ragged Flagon are safe storage containers. I tried searching about a bit but wasn't able to find anything definitive.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK, the only "safe storage" really is in a house you own.

On my last character I was able to use the Arch-Mage Quarters as safe storage for over 60 hours of gameplay.

I'm being cheap and lazy and don't want to buy a house. I know there are other safe storage areas.

In general, chests and cabinets are safe. throwing items on the ground is actually even safer.

I'm fairly certain the chests in ragged flagon are safe but i have personally never used them permanent storage.

Thanks for the input but I'd like to hear from someone who has tested this and found out through experience before I start throwing Potatoes in random containers and do a month of in-game waiting.

Well.... you're always at the mercy of people who may post things you don't believe since you haven't done the test yourself, right? I'd say you just need to test it for yourself, then you'll be positive....

Good point. My naivety often gets the best of me and I forget the world is full of jerks.

Oh, not jerks per se.... but people often post things that others take to be definitive - and which may be misleading, since people often forget exactitudes.

I use 3 containers in ragged flagon. Never had a problem. Stuff always there.

I'm really just being lazy, as I have a limited amount of time that I'm able to play  .

Waiting a month in game takes about 10 minutes though, which is much less taxing time wise than saving the money to purchase a home (on top of completing the quests to gain the standing with the town's Jarl).

If anyone knows with certitude, please post it here!

kelticpete did, just above. I expect he's not blowing steam - seems to know what he's talking about.

I don't call it being lazy, personally. People have differing play optimals, and a lot of that does depend on one's own real life situation.

Hmm. That sounds safe enough.

I generally organize my storage so I would have way more than 3 containers in use (one for weapons, one for armor, one for alchemy ingredients, one for potions, one for blacksmithing ingredients, one for jewels, one for soul stones, one for jewelry, and one for food), so hopefully the other chests are safe as well.

I was able to do this in the Arch-Mage Quarters without any trouble while using every container available in the room.

are you on pc? if so use skse and container categorization, it will make containers have item categories.

The chest beside your bed is safe as far as I know, I stored loot there for over 50 hours of gameplay.

I'm playing on the 360, so my makeshift organization is the best tactic I've discovered to ensure moderate organization of my goodies.

If I had a PC that could handle it, I would jump on that in a heartbeat, if only for the mods.

there is safe storage besides your house, most of the wizards in each town, or shopkeepers or followers..once you do them afavor you can sleep in their beds and they usualy have a chest thats safe...delphines secret room that she gives you the key for...those two chests don't respawn so thats a place you can use from early in the game...also fendals house has safe storage once he's a follower or dies and you get the key...most containers do respawn but there are some that are set to not respawn...as far as the ragged flaggon...i haven't tested those but i did loot em so after a while i'll check back and see if they respawned. but for sure delpines secret room in the riverwood inn is safe.

That's all good info for GuyIsAwesome. I don't know about any of that because the first thing I do is save enough to buy/furnish Breezehome so I don't have to worry about any of it.... [I never use followers, and I don't do the whole "marriage" thing either.... so no, I don't know about any of that.... oh, not to mention that I've never bothered to mess about with the MQ after killing Salohknir for Delphine.... Oh. Yeah, I do have a key I can't get rid of. Oh well. I'll fix that when the CK comes out....]

Quick question. Can Breezehome be furnished with an Arcane Enchanter?

Yes, on a PC. There's a mod for that. On consoles, no - not at this point. And I honestly don't know how that works for console platforms, so I don't know if it's ever possible.
