Is it safe yet

As im sure you've guessed i havent bought the game yet. These days i usually hold off buying new games until i know how bad the bugs are.
All i need to know is, have the latest patches fixed the glitches?
Ive been looking through the forum and I hear that you have to start a new game to benefit from there effects,
so people who've started a new game, how are the glitches?

.....
O/T
Its so sad the number of bugs in games especially since this generation of consoles came out.
Its even sadder that the game makers arent realising the hit there profits must take.
Take me for example. Before bugs became so pervelant, I would be buying the game as soon as it came out for full price.
Now, not only will i not be buying it for full price, I wont even be buying it new so they wont even see my money.

yeah, the issues are still present. I had to sell my copy I got so fed up with it. honestly, if you want a good experience with the game, and plan on playing them in the future, go PC. it's the best you can do if you would like to actually enjoy the game.

no problem, and I think that's the best idea, if it won't work on your PC. there may be another patch as well, but it won't fix freezing issues.

it is a shame, it's a great game...when it's working...

oh, and you won't have to wait a year for a cheap second hand copy. apparently some places in the UK have brand new copies in the 20£ bargain bin. it's only a matter of time before we see the same.

I've been absent from this board for over a month now while I tested the new patch. I deleted my 33-hour playthrough after suffering through the Old Cowboy Hat glitch and several unfinishable quests - one of which was story-critical. At first, the patch did not resolve the broken quests, but I started over in hopes the save file from which I was working was simply beyond saving.

I'm happy to say that I've since beaten the game after taking the exact same actions and haven't run into a single glitch that required creative workarounds. The game still freezes every once in a while, but I had autosave on the entire team which worked perfectly. I never had to revert to a previous manual save, and got the full $60 experience for which I'd been waiting.

I'm telling my friends that now is the time to get this game, and I urge you to do the same.

except a lot of people are still experiencing issues. I had a game go perfect for me, only to start a new one and not even be able to leave Doc Mithchells house. if I told my friends to get this, and other's to do the same, I'd be hated on a scale so mass I would have to hide out in a bunker or something....

While I never experienced any quest related bugs (or people with spinning heads, lol) I did experience serious slowdowns and frame rate issues in places like McCarran (it's a big NCR fort, lots of tents, and lots of people milling around). While they started few and far between I now have these issues regularly and in places with fairly little activity like Novac (small town area) or even just out in the desert. It freezes up quite often now too. The freeze-ups started as a rarity but now it's not uncommon for it to freeze after an hour of play, sometimes less. It's usually preceded by one of the aforementioned slowdowns. Once the game freezes the only way out is to eject the disc or reboot your ps3. I'm not sure what the issue is, it may just be that I have too many saves because I haven't heard too many other people complaining about this issue. Rent the game for a weekend or borrow it from a friend before deciding if it's worth it for you. It's been said before and I'll say it again anyway: "It's a great game...when it works."
