I recently deleted about 20 or so older saved games that I had for my character, mostly just b/c I wanted to "clean" my saves. (I don't like having all those save games, I prefer just a few).

Boy was I surprised when my games performance increased dramatically. I used to have huge FPS hits and stutters, especially when loading new areas or before a battle. The change was around 40-60fps to 1-10fps when I'd come across a battle or a new area in game.

Now my game hovers around 40-60 constantly and I experience almost no lag when entering new areas--even if I'm in the midst of a warzone (MOD).

I had no idea that the Save Bloat was such a big deal.

Why did I get such a huge performance boost when I deleted my old games?
