Saved game crashes on loading : Fallout: New Vegas

I am currently in vault 3 in the game. I have a working save game in one of the rooms. If I leave vault 3, all new hard saves will be un-loadable. Attempting to load them will cause the game to crash. All saves made inside any of the areas in vault 3 do not have the problem.

Random other info that may be of some use: Before this problem I was having the issue involving quick-saves and auto-saves not working. The patch fixed that. My game crashes occasionally for no obvious reason. With it being so rare, it doesn't bother me.

This crash makes me unable to play, so if anybody has any idea about a possible fix, I'm all ears. Thank you.

This svcks, I ran into a similar issue. Game crashed to desktop, and since then I was not able to get back into the game using loading at all. Haven't tried starting a new game yet.

I have verified local files on Steam and it says one file is missing and downloaded that, but things didn't change.

But I don't know if I actually have an save file that would work at all. I will have to double check all the save files and BAK files tomorrow to see.

I am 21 hours into the game, I have about 8 files and back files in total, I cannot even play right now. Hopefully my progress is not entirely lost, otherwise I might have to stop playing this game for a while. That's a shame because I really enjoyed it.

The first time I completely cleared the vault of Fiends and I drowned swimming in the flooded area. When I tried and reload from the autosave and quick save, all of the would crash the game. I went back to my manual save from 3 hours before and did everything again including clearing Vault 3, it seem to be ok this time without any crashes.

Needless to say, I'm manually saving all of the time now just to be safe.

The saves that I am talking about are hard saves, not quick saves.

I think the problem could be that in the saved file there are some "bad" data, so it doesn't matter if it's quick save or auto save or manual save.

This morning I backed up all my files, then renamed each one, and tried loading them one by one, just when I lost all hope, the very last save file worked, I am going to start from that one again, luckily I would only lose about 40 minutes of my playing time, and in most of it I was selling and sorting junks.

We will see how that goes and if the save files would go "bad" again.

I played ~6 hours on 'opening day' (Oct.19) and maybe 8 hours on the second day (Oct.20), no problems.
Of course I had quick and autosaves trashed, but worked around it.
Since coupla patches have been issued now, my opening day savegame crashes and is flakey!
Aarghhh... do I have to start over?

My saving files corrupting seems to be related to the Come Fly With Me quest, as reported here:

Right now I am ditching the rest of this quest and going on my way.

Do you know if you save files got corrupted in a specific quest? I know it's hard to tell because those save files would still work when you are in game, but once you exit and try to start game again, those files would not load anymore...

Update: I just reloaded a much older save and went on from there. It was intensely annoying, but it worked. These save-related bugs need to be stomped out.
