Try running TESV.exe as Administrator.

They should be in documents/my games/skyrim/saves .

if it's not already there, just make it and move the files into it.

Copy your old savegames to a save place. Just in case.

Start a new game. Play the first scenes until you leave Helgen. Make a save game. Check in-game to see if there is indeed a save-game. Check the name of the savegame. Log out of the game.

Now start a search for your new savegame. Something like "Save 1 - Prisoner Skyrim". Search the whole C:partition for a directory called Saves. Or a file called "SkyrimPrefs.ini". Search other partitions too.

Hopefully you will now have found where the game wants to store savegames. Maybe something changed. Maybe you're playing from another Windows-account. Who knows.

Copy your old savefiles to the new locations. Start the game. See if your savefiles now show up. Good luck.

when looking at the folder with your saves, click the top line (address bar at top)it will change to a directory listing, copy and paste that here...

Example...C:\Users\Dark\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves

IS steam installed to "Program files", if true...and UAC is on in win 7 move it ...

this worked, although the search failed to locate the save file i did a manual search myself and found out that my games are now being saved on a different user account, so i deleted what was in there and replaced it with all of my old data and am now playing on my character
