saving and using multiple characters with skyrim and ps3 wit

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 2:00 pm

How can I save multiple characters on the skyrim ps3. I started a new one and skyrim deleted my hard earned character with out warning and with out giving me an option to do anything else. How do we fix this?

After playing Skyrim for a few hundred hours and leveling up to 100, an attempt to start a secound new character resulted in the complete deletion of my original character without any warning or being offered the option to make the decision to throw away my hard work. This is a very perplexing situation that may be solved by the use a recovery utility in order to recover data on the disc that the ps3 and skyrim has decided to ignore and consider deleted. As the PS3 file system is not recognizable by a microsoft based computer, it seems that a specially written software would be required and able to be down loaded and run directly from and online source or thru the flash drive and usb port.

Does anybody know of any thing that would be helpful to this situation?

I'm not sure what you mean.

When you make a new character just make a new save file; do not overwrite your old save.

I think he means that a new character deletes old saves (usually the most recent save). I found that too. It is quite infuriating. Another good reason to have a lot of multiple saves per character (and to keep an eye on how many are left).

Although I use the x-box for Skyrim, you can do the same thing I do. Usernames... My husband and I both have seperate usernames on the Ps3. So you should be able to do one username per "character" that you want. I have 5 set up on x-box. 3 I use, my husbands and a guest. Mage, warrior, thief/assassin.

I don't have to worry about writeovers or deleteing.

its that save the game makes before character creation, happened to me twice, but i back saves up every day so :P.

DO NOT delete or save over it, or next time you start a character it will create a new one, deleting whichever save is "save 1"

The PS3 creates an autosave right before you choose your race. If you overwrite THAT save, and start a new character, it wil use that slot again at the start of the character selection screen. I recommend leaving that save spot alone, and creating 2-3 new saves per character.

Rule 1: Multiple saves, and save often.

Rule 2: Don't overwrite saves.

Rule 2: Don't overwrite saves.

This, also turn off all auto saves.

So as long as you have 2 current saves for the character your playing now, creating a new character will only overwrite 1 of those saves? Just load your most recent save and make a new manual save, so that way you'll have duplicate saves just in case one of them gets written over.
