There's a debate on this...? Isn't it obvious?

Strange Meat is human flesh - it was far more clear in Fallout 3 as we had "hunters" going around killing people for food. They always had "Strange Meat" on them.

Out of disgust of the concept, I've never eaten the stuff.

I always thought it was obvious, but there are a surprising amount of people who don't think it is human

Was hoping to catch J E Sawyer and have him issue the "word from on high", but no luck apparently

edit : Sawyer had popped back online for a few minutes, looking at a thread that was right below this one, so I suspect that he is ignoring this question on purpose :shakehead:

Well, think about it. Why would they have different items for human flesh? One is Human Flesh, one is Strange Meat. I think it's safe to say that strange meat is not always human flesh, but it can be heavily implied to be depending on the situation. In the Andale basemant and shed? Yes. In Mick and Ralphs fridge? No.

It's human flesh, it's not subtley noted in Fallout 3

I don't see why J.E. Sawyers view would matter since Strange Meat was introduced in Fallout 3, and IIRC, Sawyer was not involved in Beths project. So you'd be best asking the Beth dev team this question.

It's human flesh in Fallout 3, we know that. But we don't know whether in New Vegas it's also always meant to represent human flesh, especially given that it can be found in the houses of some characters who are definitely not cannibals. It's possible that not all FNV designers knew or cared that it was human meat in FO3, and simply used it to represent various kinds of meat that looks strange.

To be honest, someone else said it first. But I believe that could be the case.

Or maybe they naievely (is that how you spell it) bought it from someone?

It maybe different in NV but in the DC wasteland strange meat was clearly people so that is where I'm leaning on the subject.

Its not.

It's either an Oversight for them using the places fridge, Or its on purpose.

Considering some of the odd things I've seen in New Vegas, it's 70% likely oversight. I have a feeling some of the devs didnt play that part of F3 (Andale) and stuck it in world maps.

But that gun svcked IMO.
