Scariest game you've played on Consoles

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:04 pm

Im having trouble finding a truly scary game that is on the consoles.
Not a game where something jumps out at you every couple minutes, but has a dark feeling that makes you want to leave Asap.

Honestly, i cant think of a game like that for the consoles, except for Condemned: Criminal Origins which i already played when i first got my xbox. And it really wasn't that scary, more of a mystery.

Thief: Deadly Shadows

I haven't played the console version but I don't believe there is any difference in content. Shalebridge Cradle is one of the tensest and scariest game levels I've ever played.

That has to be the first Silent Hill. I got the demo of Silent Hill with Metal Gear Solid.

I didn't understand what to do in the game and in the end I got killed by these small child like white creatures in a dark alley. :ahhh:

Never touched that game after that...

Any idea if the new Silent Hill coming out is supposed to be scary as [censored] or not?

I think that is usually what they try to shoot for, as you can tell sometimes they miss.

None, the new AVP was scary the first 1 or 2 human missions, Dead Space was creepy at times but I find after a while with horror games you just have to expect the unexpected.

The original Resident Evil. 'I'll just walk down this corridor'. *smash*. "What the [censored] is that????"

Haven't really played many scary games on consoles. But I hear Fatal Frame is truly horrific.

I tried to play Silent Hill Homecoming on the Xbox 360. It was very very creepy. I stoped playing the characters became scary. About an hour in.

I was in a house looking around, a cut scene started and I saw this huge guy walking around with an axe. After the cutscene ended I was suppose to go his way... yeah right. I ejected the disk and put it back in the case, never touched it since.

Fatal Frame 2, available on PS2 and Xbox, IMO the best and scariest game.

Hahaha! Yeah, me too. My ex-brother-in-law was telling me about it. He says, Whatever you do, don't play it alone, or at night with the lights off, and keep the sound down. I was like, pffft, whatever. I did all 3 and wasn't the least bit scared, was laughing. He is such a wuss. :P

The Resident Evil remake on the Gamecube. Specifically the Keeper's Journal. I dont think words can describe the chill that went up my spine when I read that for the first time :nope:

I may have played it on the PC, but I'll second Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. The horrors in that game ranged from the sheer panic of the chase (if you've never played this game, its worth picking up, just for this five minute segment. You wont be disappointed), to some of the visuals that made me just freeze in my tracks. I wish I didn't let someone borrow that game, or I'd still have it.

Silent Hill 1-4. It's hard to declare things as scary or not since it's different for everybody, but they're pretty much the only games that have done it for me.

Metro and Dead Space.

I would say Dead Space 2, but because I played Dead Space, I was sort of used to all of the scares.
