Am I to scary for Dragons?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 4:03 pm

Ok so, i'm level 14, almost level 15, i have about 15-16 hours on this character and i'm at the part of the quest where you have to go to the place that Dalphine tells you to go about why the Dragons are coming back. I have 0 Dragon souls. I've only killed one, the scripted one from the watch tower.

Now, i walk ever were. i walked from Whiterun to iverstead, from iverstead the long way to Riften. Whiterun to Rorikstead, from there to Solitude, to morath. From Riften to whindhelm.

you see what i mean? I walk ever were to discover every thing and it takes me along time to walk there with every thing distracting me, yet i've not seen or heard one single dragon. Am i just so scary that no dragons will mess with me?

but really though, i'm getting pretty bored with Fus Ro Dah and only the first part of Whirl Wind sprint.

I would continue into the main quest but due to lag...

and i play on ps3 so no console commands....

Talk to innkeepers and ask them about work. They'll hand you flyers describing bounties declared by this or that Jarl, which can be for bandits, giants and dragons. That'll tell you where some of the dragon lairs are. Or just wander around in the mountains until you find one. There's one in the east in the hot springs for sure.

Travel to different towns, just explore. Guaranteed almost everytime to have a random dragon spawn by fast travelling to a new town. As an above poster said, talk to stewards to get bounties for dragons.

Just like Gram said, you can ask housekeepers (which you can find in every Jarl's palace/longhouse/whatever), they will sometimes tell you about dragons terrorizing the countryside or something. You can also try looking around mountain summits, dragons often hold up in high places.

Edit: Also, Dawnstar seems to have the biggest dragon-problem of all of Skyrim, there are people who encounter a dragon everytime they arrive there. Maybe that's worth a try?

Okay calm down, people are trying to help you with what they know on their own games. Personally everytime I fast travel to a new town a dragon spawns and attacks it.

If you want guaranteed dragons go to word walls and speak with the stewards of any town. Out of all the towns in skyrim one of the stewards will have a bounty for a dragon. Whiterun has run dry so move on.

I've been told that doing a lot of fast traveling increases the chance of dragons appearing.

When you are wandering about just watch out for the Dragon icon in your compass. That will point you to a dragon with a word wall.

I think the dragons become more common as well as you progress through the main quest.

As others have said try fast traveling. I have had more encounters doing that, and maybe dungeon crawl and get the words of power first, then absorb the dragon souls. There are several scripted dragons. Talk to the Jarls, some of them have quests for dragons.

Beauty of context on the internet lol

Im sure it isn't a bug at least. Higher levels it should get to a point where you are like "omg ANOTHER one! I just want to sell my crap." Or you will end up leary of going to a town for fear the dragon will come down and start wiping everyone out.

New types of dragons appear at different levels, im just not sure if they increase the frequency at higher levels as well. Once you get far enough into the main quest though (particularly the part with Delphine and Esbern) there will be more dragon shouts then you know what to do with.

I would suggest just progressing more with the main quest.

Haven't you been to any dragon...nests, or whatever the heck they're called? Dragons should be there after your first fight at the watchtower.

Sometimes they dont show up until you do that part with Delphine where you watch Alduin raise the dragon at Kynesgrove.

Haven't you noticed any dragon icons on your compass while wandering?.

Also, I get far more dragon encounters while fast travelling than just wandering, usually in Riverwood.

Finally go back and talk to the Greybeards, they will say something about hearing the echo of a whisper of a new shout or some such nonsense, but basically it marks the location of a shout in your map, there'll always be a dragon guarding it so enjoy the battle.

It would not bother me so much if it wasn't for the fact that when i had my other acount, my level 7 who was at the same point in the story had already killed 7 dragons... it's just strange lol :P

Have you showered lately, just because they're dragons it doesn't mean they want to smell that. Fast traveling helps a bit. On my first playthrough I would see one in the distance and chase him down.

Another tip is shouting in town. It will cause a commotion and a courier will visit you with a letter from 'a friend'. Listing a dragon location.

Just try not to hit anyone with the shout if it's an offensive one. Accidently fus ro dah'ed the jarl of whiterun. He wasn't thrilled.

Play more main quest and you'll see more random dragons...i used to think the same thing as you but after doing several main quests i run into dragons more (just fought 2 at once).
Also there's outside word wall locations that always have a dragon guarding them..be careful when you find shearpoint ;)
