I still haven't seen this. I want to, I've just never gotten around to it.

EDIT: talking about Scott Pilgrim. Don't give a [censored] about Napolean Dynamite.

I thought Scott Pilgrim was a neat idea, but overall just "ok."

Same, I enjoyed the video game touches in the movie but I didn't think it was amazing. I would watch it again.

i thought Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World would have worked out much better as an advlt swim animated series then a movie.

The fact that Napoleon Dynamite is on that list doesnt give it much validity in my eyes.

If I remember correctly, AS put out a couple of teaser episodes before the movie came out. To generate interest, I guess.

Ghost World was great. I loved the jabs at how culturally watered-down things have become...like the "authentic" 50's restaurant that played booty-club music and the blues club that didn't pay any attention to the actual blues guy and then went nuts for "Blues Hammer." Lol.

To be honest, Donnie Darko and Ghost World were the only movies in that list that I was impressed by. Juno was pretty good. IMO Napolean Dynamite was a very clever and original movie, but it got too popular and became "uncool"...the arch-nemesis of the quirky indie film...popularity...

As in, you don't like those movies personally or that they don't belong in the "top post-911 moviegoer list"...whatever the cluck that means...:P

I don't get it either. Was 9/11 really earth-shattering in the film industry, besides the conspiracy/armageddon movies that cropped up? They could just say "post 20th century".

It was okay, but the story-line was way too rushed along in the movie. Still pretty funny though. My favorite part is when his ex asian girlfriend comes to his house and you see him jump through the window

Oh, I just actually read the first paragraph of the article. It has nothing to do with "the best post-911 movies" or some such as the thread implies. It's just about how a more geeky and cynical view of the "coming of age" film has been reflected in the industry. Ok, fine. I guess I agree. Coming-of-age movies have definitely changed since Sixteen Candles. :)

I was rather blown away by the film. I went to the theater thinking that I wasn't going to really like the movie. Instead, I saw my favorite movie of the year. That is easily one of the most genuinely funny movies I have ever seen.
