The fields by Whiterun are the prettiest I think. There's an island in the big lake west of Riverwood that looks promising as well.

Yeah i saw that while looking around, there's another place near riverwood in a sort of revine where a house could be built into the mountainside that get's the sun all day. I'v already made plans for it, I may post some pics later on. I am still looking around though.

Heading out from Whiterun toward the first tower there is a broken house along the road close to a keep full of bandits. I'm wanting to make my house right there.

Bedroll and a barrel? as stupid as that sounds I actually thought about that, there's certain caves around skyrim (NOT caves that go to a particular place but ones in the open) where just a bedroll and maybe a chest ta dump your stuff would be pretty sweet, but there are already many places like that.

I noticed that house the other day and thought that the option to fix it up would make a great mod.

I have come across so many places that have such nice views and vista's that I could not pick a place, even if I could remember where they are. However, I do want it up high, overlooking a valley or a mountain range. Perhaps with a waterfall in view or near by.

I like the geothermal springs northwest of Riften. Not as spectacular as some spots, but I just think the area is cool and different.

Where the Rift goes into the Geothermal areas is probably my favorite place in the game outside, though I do love the northern icey wastes as well.

There's nothing quite like coming up to a massive cliff where there are gentle hiking trails all the way down, while you are surrounded by waterfalls, and far below you are pines with geothermal vents. In the distance you can see the wonderful snowy landscape, and to your west, thick pine forests going into a mountain canyon :P

It's quite perfect. That's where I'd "build" a cabin in Skyrim.

Oooh. I can't think of any off the top of my head but I'm sure I've seen some. I'll watch this thread and post screenies/locations if I stumble across any choice ones. :)

Those glacial areas in the north part of the Winterhold hold and the Pale hold.
The swamp area in the Hjaalmarch hold.
Some valleys or hills or mountains in the Reach hold.
The first two may seem odd, but.......um...(sentence end)

There's a small mountain directly west of Whiterun. There's a great view from the top.

Head to the Rift. There's a foresty area that has an autumn feel to it.

How about the top of Lost Valley Redoubt, with Bard's Leap for a scenic back porch. Or renovate the ruins on top of Sky Haven Temple.

Great places but those are already owned and I cant build on someones turf, they might swipe my gear! or I might go out adventuring one day and come back to find forswarn chilling out in my house, cooking stuff in my pot and playing swordfights with my collection of Legendary Honed Draugr Greatswords!
