» Tue May 29, 2012 4:44 pm Alright, so I took the StormCloak quest and made it to the 2nd mission "The Battle of Whiterun." or something like that. When I fast traveled to the military encampment, I started getting a really annoying screen flickering problem. I've tried many things to fix it, like turn off/on vsync, updating my drivers (Although they where already up to date.) and trying dozens of things like window mode, and changing the quality of graphics from the launcher menu and still no dice.
My system specs are Windows XP Professional 32Bit edition SP3, 4 Gigabytes of Ram, 3.4ghz AMD Quad Core, A Nvidia GTX 460 with 1 Gig of it's own ram. and 2 500 Gigabyte harddrives with 300 Gigs of free space. My system doesn't run any anti-virus programs, and it's been maintained on a weekly basis defragging, chkdsk, and registry cleaned. I hope thats enough technical information.
And a bit of side info, somewhere into the battle, If I ignore the constant irritating flickering, I find my horse in front of Whiterun Glitching. Like it levitates up and down. Not sure if that would be a sign that this mission is broken, but I hope it helps diagnose this issue. I have a few mods installed form the steam workshop, but none of them would likely cause problems with that mission or quest in particular.
I am running the latest 1.4 patch too.
Also, if anyone else can confirm this problem or a similar instance, please submit to this post, it could require a hotfix or patch on Bethesda's behalf as it's very annoying to look at. Please help me out here.
