Screenshots no longer take

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 1:23 pm

This may belong in the mods section, I have a lot of mods installed, but the timing does not coincide with any mod installations.

Recently, my game has stopped taking screens with the print screen button. Which is a real downer. I know i can take pics with Steam, but I prefer to keep copies on my computer without having to log on to steam if I want to view them (I take some pretty decent scenic shots)

Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, is there a known solution?

Is bAllowScreenshot set to 1 in your skyrim.ini?

Steam does save them to your computer. They only go online if you chose to upload them.

IT wasn't, and I'm guessing that it is enabled by default. I wonder what could have caused it to toggle if that's the case. I'm going to test with it set.

Good to know. I guess I should have at least tried it first, eh? I guess I'll use the Steam screenshots then because for some reason, even with bAllowScreenshot=1, I don't get a shot taken. Sad.

Delete the ini file in the my games folder in my ducuments (save a copy first) that should re-set it for you.

o.O Steam saves files as jpgs. That's not good. My screenshot quality went through the floor with this... :(

I'll try this.

It worked. apparently, I put the bAllowScreenshot=1 in the General section instead of the display section. Thans Rabidnid for fixing this issue for me.
