1.4 screwed my game!

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 3:08 am

I used the 1.1 patch without problems and never upgraded. I figured I would try the 1.4 patch to see if it would improve the xbox low res texture bug, and even then, something in my head told me not to mess with it. I ignored it and installed 1.4, and since then I have been having almost constant freezing issues. the game is literally unplayable. I mean in the Reach for example, I can walk for about 20 seconds and then it freezes. I am pissed. Is there a way to revert back to 1.1?

If not I want my money back Bethesda. If I bought a car that broke down every 20 seconds, I would be perfectly in my right to return it. Videos games should be no different.

Try a new game, sometimes this solves most problems.

Yes, starting a new game after 300 hours is cool.

Most fixes aren't retroactive. I though it was common knowledge. It's not like they don't want to fix your game, they just don't want to cause even more issues with retroactive fixes.

Also, at least for my playstyle, it's not that hard. I'm always creating new characters anyway.

It svcks but sometimes it's the only option. I've never had game breaking bugs like that, I'd be angry.

I'm not starting a new [censored] game. I just spent almost 80 hours on this new character to try and make him strong enough to survive on master. I am not doing it all over again.

There is no way to go back to 1.1?

Can you just try to start a new game? Just to see if it works and solve the problem.

I think the only way would be uninstalling the game from the Xbox then disconnecting from internet and then installing it again with the CD.

Try clearing your cache. Should remove the latest patch you downloaded. And then when it asks you to download the patch again simply decline.

SA, you play on an Xbox, you can't just downgrade on that, reinstalling the game to go back to 1.0 would delete your save and patching would skip 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 to go to 1.4 immediately anyway.

There is no real option to go back or fix your save at this point that I know of.
Just try a new game and see how it works, if the bugs persist then you can start really complaining.

Besides, 300H save game on a xbox?
Doesn't that lead to 2m load times?
