Hi,

Simply, during the negotiations on High Hrothgar, when Delphine's friend (the one you rescue from underground Riften where he has locked himself in that room) starts speaking, there's no audio and it warps through his dialogue (subtitiles) and everything just comes to a halt. Everyone just sits there looking around at each other, there is no conversation at all and I can't get up from my seat or do anything at all.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

This seems to be a rather common bug. I believe the more common fixes are to load an earlier save or, once you sit down to begin the negotiations, "wait" 24 hours in-game. Either of these or a combination of the two should do the trick, but there are other ways to progress this if my two suggestions don't work.

Nothing of what you suggested worked. How has a bug as game breaking as this not been fixed yet? I mean, it's the main questline and I can't complete it....

So, is there not a fix for this? Because I can't finish the game at this point.

No other site has any suggestions? The only other thing I can think of is to "wait" a few in-game hours once you hit the bug, or if you're on the PC, use the console to disable/enable Esbern, or forcibly advance the quest.

I've tried waiting 24 hours as soon as I sit down to the table and I've tried the same thing when the "halt" occurs and still nothing happens. Delphine's friend (Esbern?) might be the one causing the problem, but nothing is for sure. He hasn't had any vocals and his dialogue seems to be non-existent ever since I first met him in Riften.

I'm on the PC, so there must be a way to correct the issue.
