Securitrons, Robobrains, and A. House

Post » Sat Jun 18, 2011 7:59 am

Securitrons, Robobrains, and Anthony/Alexander House I believe will all have some role to play in the upcoming Old World Blues DLC.

We know from the video interview and sneak previews of Old World Blues that Securitrons originated from RobCo Industries but where exactly have we seen them being created? We know that Robert House in 2042 created the company of RobCo and that by 2049 it had become one of the most influential contributors to robotics.

Securitrons strangely have the H&H logo rather than a House label. If House did not get along with his half-brother then why did his securitrons have the factory name of his brothers business?

Securitrons are only found in Fallout New Vegas and yet for all of them that there are (and how widespread some of them are) where exactly do they come from. Victor appears in numerous places, Goodsprings, Novac, and New Vegas. Other securitrons are found at the Fort. In this aspect Securitrons are found everywhere in the Mojave area. In House's facility the room that they are contained in does not seem to be a place where they could be created. It is only a facility to test their functions. We never actually see creation origins. To people that say the Fort is where they were created this does not make sense. Why would House only want to go to building that had prebuilt securitrons ready for war? Why would he not want to go to a place where they can actually be created? My guess is that he didn't know himself where they were created. The securitrons in New Vegas were probably all his personal attenders, the Fort is probably a military facility. Where then are securitrons originated from?

Robobrains: We've seen them in multiple locations but I couldn't help but notice two of the only ones in New Vegas were found in H&H Tool Headquarters. Could this have been a hint of his connection to the Big Empty? Robobrains apparently use actual brains or parts of brains to operate. They were deemed not very cost effective and possibly dangerous as well so were more or less discontinued as a military weapon. Robobrains were developed by General Atomics International (who partnered with RobCo).

Van Buren: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Robobrains of Van Buren had an interesting addition to them. Although Van Buren was never created we've seen examples of dlc content being taken from the designs of said game. OWB is no different as we see the EPA appear along with other things.

from VB: "Official government records list only chimpanzee brains as being used in the robots[1], but at least some human brains were taken from the bodies of convicted criminals sentenced to death[2]. Just as well, many of these subjects were criminally insane, so the robobrains they became a part of were not entirely mentally stable, despite complete reprogramming[3], usually with the CODE technology. Some of these human-robobrains would even try to subtly kill themselves, apparently resenting being robots. "

Could Robobrains actually have been created in the Big Empty? They were not created by Vault-Tec, the ideas of using brains seems very familiar to what we know of OWB and the brain factor. It also does not explain why Anthony House has in his employ Robobrains that were partnered with his half-brothers company.

Anthony House Alexander House: I happened to just bother playing through H&H Tools the other day and something really stood out to me. The signature on Anthony House's terminal was not Anthony but Alexander. in the last journal of supposed Anthony House the entry it is signed Alexander House.

The other major incidents with Anthony House include the fact the company was sealed off and booby trapped to high hell and yet when visiting we find no corpse/skeleton of Anthony House or any indications that he died at all.

A missing person deemed to not be important ending up becoming the main personality in dlc. First we had Elijah (all that was left was a terminal and reports of him vanishing, then we had Graham (burned man legend), I predict we will have Anthony/Alexander House next, and then we have Ulysses (courier possibly a frumentari who disappeared after letting the courier take the package).

This sets off "future dlc concept" in my mind. Based on this a number of different things could be predicted.

Alexander House was actually a plant by Robert House to conceal the fact his brother went missing at an earlier time.

Alexander House was the other Anthony House as Anthony House was deemed to be schizophrenic. (seems most likely)

Anthony House had an alternate means of escaping the factory (not the company) or had a body double.

Securitrons have a connection to the Big Empty as we have seen them in the previews.

Robobrains have similar conceptual designs that the Big Empty and brain implanting conceives.

House can not create securitrons with his own resources possibly because he is probably not the creator to begin with.

just a few ideas I had and things I noticed. I really do believe that Anthony or Alexander House will be making an appearance in OWB as all the evidence seems to point to it. the majority of them are just speculation and the like.

this has probably been done to death but meh comment if you like.

Think that it is true, Anthony House was a schizophrenic, and perhaps Alexander House was his alter-ego. He seemed quite unstable in his letters like one being made up of only the world "nevertheless". Or the one where he talks on how Chloe (or some name with a C) can no longer save him.

Like I said before, perhaps Anthony House is inside a Think Tank, or even a Robobrain at the Big Empty. Perhaps the Big Empty and H&H Tools reached an accord, in which the Big Empty would have access to their created supply of Securitrons, and in return Anthony's company was given a branding mark on all of the Securitrons. The wiki says it's a mess up in the game for him signing Alexander House, but I think it's for the player to piece together to come out with "He was crazy, and Alexander was probably his split personality."

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post, as it did shed some light on the topic. And the wiki for OWB says that the Courier teams up with his captors to take on a bigger threat. Perhaps Anthony is having an episode of schizophrenia very much like Tabitha in Black Mountain did. Perhaps he has gone AWOL and became a tyrant along with his split personality to destroy the Big Empty because he thinks the robots are evil. Or perhaps he is using he Securitrons to destroy proof of him being there. I'm fairly sure that schizophrenics, just as the Nightkin don't like to be seen. Perhaps that's something Anthony will share in accordance to Nightkin.

Then again, Nightkin are always concealed and maybe that is why they don't like being seen. Jacobstown surely sheds some light on this topic.

I was just starting up the game and noticed something else kinda odd. H&H Tool Company is a wallpaper for the main menu of the game. There is really nothing all that important there unless it might be a clue to something later in the game. You could say it has to do with House I suppose but they have other screens for that. Likewise now I am looking for clues to LR.

In the wallpapers, hints/tips, and loading screens there has been a hint to each of the future dlc. For example the loading screen with them talking about the burned man. They have had hints in for all the dlc in the games. I'm going to be returning to H&H Tool Company later this week to see if I can find any possible reference to the Big Empty. They've been sneaky with all the dlc and I don't think they would tell us absolutely nothing about it in the main game when they have for all the others. It is there somewhere...we just gotta look.

edit: eventually I'll probably be proven wrong in my theories/guesses but doesn't hurt to try and prove them.

Check michael angelo's workshop...

Originally a H & H workshop, it also has peculiar looking 'tracks' leading from the main construction area in the middle to the ramp/shutters.
I believe this was in fact were House had the securitrons we see around the strip created.
I also think that there was probably more that was meant to be done in this place, probably being cut from the game.
There are switches and computers etc in there that either still kinda function of look like they should have.

That is definitely a possible answer but then what is the connection between the securitrons seen in OWB previews and House's securitrons. My theory is that Robert House stole the research of his half-brother out of spite for being cut out of the inheritance. Do you honestly think someone as vain as Robert House would go to his brother for any sort of aid or would use his brothers anything? There is more to Anthony/Alexander than we've been given. Where is the body then if you say otherwise? Why would they bother putting that he might have escaped if they plan to do nothing with it? They used the Burned Man and Elijah disappearances and I bet they will use the Anthony/Alexander House scenario as well.

I would like to see Anthony/Alexander House make some kind of impact on Old World Blues, whether he is there physically(as in either being in a pod like Robert House, or have his brain in a robot like a robobrain or the new brain bots in OWB) or be there through old recordings, notes or holotapes. Maybe he is the bigger enemy in OWB, maybe his brain was used in a robot or a pod and though a cerebral interface with the computer network of the facility and has begun running rampant through the system taking over all of the technology so he can create a mechanical army to cleanse the Mojave Wasteland of the "communist occupation." I could see it happening, being away from the Mojave for so long, believing Chinese communist forces having overrun the US, now in his mind everything being under communist control.

Well personally I only remember seeing that miniature securitron in the owb trailer?
I also don't remember reading on any of the terminals that Anthony escaped, I do however believe that he held onto his company at least until the bombs fell.
I think, and this is just my opinion and even though I'm a major house fan. I think Robert stole the plans for the securitrons from his brothers company.
We know he is a master coder/engineer and probably hacker.
We also know that robco was 'attempting' a hostile takeover of the company he was cheated out of.
Going purely by the records left in the H&H headquarters it doesn't look like he actually 'took over' before the bombs fell though.

I think he was after the company so badly because he didn't want H&H to have products that could rival his own.

People have said that the H&H logo on the securitrons only refers to the television plate.
I see nowhere 'anywhere' that references H&H as tv makers, radiation king seemed to have dominated that market.
I think R. House set the securitron production into motion as part of his plan 'after' the bombs started to fall, using the 'exact' original designs, which included the original H&H logo.
But, thats just my little theory.

Hopefully we'll find out a little more once owb comes out.

In all honesty, I would be surprised if Anthony House didn't have anything to do with OWB. A lotta clues say he is so... yeah, I'd really be surprised.

I'm looking forward to this. It could be that Anthony/Alexander might have been in control of The Big Empty and made himself immortal like his brother who knows.

Also in Fo2 in one of the places I think military base can't remember name your able to put a brain into a robot and make him a companion. Based on your science skill you could get a human brain in there.

I do expect to see Anthony. Would be a little weird if there wasn't any mention of him in any DLC.

In what way remains to be seen. Could be records, stories, maybe he's even still alive.

Yep. My biggest reasoning is simply the fact that all the previous dlc have had hints to who the main character is for each. Obsidian does not seem like the type of company that would change their way of thinking for only one of the dlc. Besides what other possible character that the Courier could have heard about could be in OWB. I think it is likely that something will happen with someone.

The terminal in Anthony's Office is signed Alexander House and curiously despite all the other bodies found in the area there is no hint of Anthony's body despite the fact he was supposed to have died locked away in his office. no body means alternate means of escape. Anthony or House may have been the one who created everything but I could easily see both of them stealing and plotting behind (hell in front of) each other. If Robert had a means of surviving then I'm sure Anthony had a plan as well. The lack of a corpse/skeleton is just too suspicious in my mind.

Hell could be completely wrong and might not have anything with Anthony House in OWB but time will tell.

I don't think anyone has realized, but "H&H" in the name "H&H Tools" most likely stands for House and House.

People would reference this with "Oh, Anthony House and Robert House owned the company! So duh, H&H is for the two brothers." But they hated each other and stayed from each other and their business. This is another crack at his split personality. Perhaps H&H doesn't stand for Anthony and Robert House. Perhaps it stands for Anthony and Alexander House. Maybe his schizophrenia was worse than it seemed, because this Alexander House seems a bit too real as to be included in the company name.

I am starting to think Anthony and Alexander House will play a rather interesting role in OWB, if any.

Good point. Here's another thought. I will quote Anthony's second journal entry, don't read it if you want to read them yourself in the factory:

Spoiler
I'm beginning to mistrust Henderson. I think he's conspiring with my bastard half-brother to seize the company. I built this company, damnit! I won't be ousted by some Johnny-come-lately fancy college man with his robots and his degrees. I've asked Cindy-Lou to keep and eye on him, to monitor his e-mail for suspicious activity.

Spoiler
To me, it sounds like Henderson is H&H's vice-president or co-president. At the very least he is a very important employee, as he is seemingly able to 'seize' the company with Robert House.

H&H, House&Henderson?

Hmmm excellent proposal. Maybe H&H does stand for that, but in the entry it says "college man with his robots and degrees." I think this means Robert House is the true owner of the Securitrons. But that still doesn't explain why they have an H&H plaque. If Henderson really was conspiring with Mr.House, maybe a perk was getting the H&H branding on all of Mr.House's Securitrons for when they seize the company and Henderson can share in Mr.House's fortune.

But this is all speculation.

House and House name has nothing to do with Anthony OR Robert..

It was their fathers company, the name is meant as either a brother-brother or a father-son name..
Robert was cheated out of his inheritance (the company) by Anthony, it was 'already' called H&H tools I'm afraid..

(Alexander was a typo, there is no Alexander)

... "college man with his robots and degrees." ...

That refers to Henderson.

Checking the terminal journal entry 07/25/2042,
it seems that A. House had already walked down several miles into his paranoia tunnel
quite early and then he dealt with his 'come-in-lately' business partner in some violent way.
The entry is very much implying that it was his partner, Henderson, to have an interest
in mechanization and automation and not A. House himself.
Securitrons were probably one of Henderson's ideas and R. E. House came into possessions
of the technical details when he finally managed to regain control of H&H Tool Company,
either shortly before the war or soon after it recovered from the disaster that had him out-of-order for over 200 years.

And the lack of A. House corpse is most probably an oversight, as it is his double name.
