Am I seeing things?

I swear I saw a dragon submerging into underwater in the trailer. But I'm still confused as to what this implies, any ideas?

Yes dragons can now dive into lakes. Wether that means we can dive underwater and fight them in the icy depths of a lake is pure speculation.

I have speculated over this myself. I dont think this will be included in anything that effects the overrall game. Probably for a big time dragon battle or maybe its how you enter the new dlc realm. We shall see. :)

From what i gathered, it mean that even the Dragons are afraid of what the Vamps are planning.
So they drowned themselves.

I personally thought that was part of some sort of "cutscene", but I'm praying that this is actually something more relevant. On a side note, it would be cool to finally be able to fly a freaking dragon :P

I'm hoping it means that there'll be underwater combat and new, more advanced AI for the enemies.

It would be pretty awesome to be walking up north in Skyrim, around Winterhold and have a dragon burst out through the ice and attack you.

You got that right! It would make the waters of Skyrim a bit more interesting.

This is one of the things I am most curious about the trailer

1: is that a new type of dragon?
2: what the (censored) did he just do that for?

The Volkihar, according to lore, live under icy lakes. Maybe the Dovahkiin uses a shout to manipulate a dragon to crash into the lake to get to the Volkihar.

There is a reference in lore of the Volkihar vampire clan with a refuge beneath the ice lakes of Skyrim. It's in the book Immortal Blood. That's most likely how the ice is relevant. What the dragon has to do with this is anyone's guess.

How else do you think you get at those Falmer which you also see in the trailer?

Definitely, they are pretty dull right now. Dragons diving into the water, and bursting out behind you breathing whatever they breath at you would be a pretty neat tactic for messing up with the player.

I'd bet my last dollar that the dragon we see diving into that lake is Vulthuryol.

(If you don't know who he is, I can't tell you because it's a spoiler.)

I'm guessing that shot was taken in a specific area (appears to be an ice covered lake) where you have to fight a certain dragon that can do dive attacks. I think if all dragons were able to do this they would be crashing all over the place.

I hope not. Dragons are rather lacking in terms of tactics right now, so I'd rather see them all get additional behavior instead just having one special one that isn't Alduin deciding he wants to go swimming.

I have two theories.

1: The dragon did not dive in, it was pulled in by a very strong person or with magic. Now I think it those icy vampires that live in frozen lakes or maybe those frost giants

2: Dragons can now swim without floatys.
